Staffie And Lurcher? Empty Staffie And Lurcher?

Post by Simey99 Sat Sep 17 2016, 21:42

Hi everyone, I have a 2 year old female lurcher rescue who adores every dog she comes across. I was wondering does anyone here have any experience of owning a lurcher and a staff together and what to expect or any tips that could be given would be much appreciated as I am hoping to buy a staffie pup soon Big Grin

We had a staffie cross (Bobbert) and a lurcher (Harley) together. Bob had some lurcher in him but it didn't help, he couldn't run nearly as fast as Harls!

Dog friendships depend so much on individual personalities, I wouldn't get too hung up on breed. They'll see each other as dogs, not as 'lurcher' and 'staffie'. There are differences between them, of course, but not that should cause any problems. Lurchers don't play the way that staffies do but especially with a pup she should learn staffie ways and will probably regulate OTT play.

Next to staffies, lurchers are my favourite dogs, so to my mind one of each sounds perfect!

Chase games might be a bit one sided but other than that I wouldn't see any issues Smile
