Re: Introducing Gus & Elvis
My boys are 10 years old and 9 weeks. And after a stressful 2 weeks and I was seriously thinking of rehoming Elvis they seem to be better together now. Although my older staff puts Elvis in his place and he submits

Re: Introducing Gus & Elvis
hia from me and Sasha aww they both look beautiful ,just give it time your older dog has had his house by himself for a long time and then along comes along a pup!!!its normal for your older dog to put the pup in his place but just keep a close eye on them, give your older dog a place where he can get away from the pup if he wants a bit of quiet time and the same for the pup as well, let your older dog enjoy your walks alone together so he still feels special,it will work with them just give it time.

Re: Introducing Gus & Elvis
Thank you, Gus (my older boy) has adapted so well. He is so placid anyway and Elvis is just scatty! They are split up at night and Gus has his own area he can escape to and Elvis knows not to go there. We've had Elvis since he was 6 weeks the breeder was just in it for the money. So 3 weeks on and the boys are fine, thankfully as I could not part with Elvis. Elvis is going puppy classes soon so that will help and Gus is walked on his own. We put the lead on Elvis in the garden the other day and Gus got hold of it and walked him round the garden was so funny!

Re: Introducing Gus & Elvis
Elvis looks like such a cheeky chap & i'm so pleased to read that they've started to settle. I think they are going to be best of buddies in months to come. I would imagine that Gus putting Elvis in his place is a good thing, at least he'll learn what's acceptable and what's not

Re: Introducing Gus & Elvis
Thanks Ian - I was worried a few weeks back but it seems to be settling down just got to give them time! Elvis is quite a character. Elvis just walks off when Gus tells him off which is good. Elvis has just established there's an upstairs
