Puppy and the Oldie
We have a 14 year old miniature daschund called Dutchess. In the last couple of weeks Storm has taken to pulling and nipping at her ears/head area. It seems to me like Storm wants to play and Dutchess just does not have the energy for it, but when we try to stop the action, Storm just turns her nipping onto us. In other areas, Storm will not eat or sleep if Dutchess is not near, so I know there is some love there. It's just when Storm goes into "monster" mode as we call it

Re: Puppy and the Oldie
Hello, I have a 10 year old staff and a puppy frenchie. My pup drives the staff nuts, he bites her legs and face and she is very tolerant. Does Dutchess tell the pup off when she has had enough?
If she does you need to let her. If she doesn't then you need to intervene, just pick him up and shut him out of the room for a couple of minutes. Let him back in, if he does it again, just pick him up and remove him again until he gets the message.
Hope this helps. x

Re: Puppy and the Oldie
Dutchess does eventually tell Storm off, but usually only when she is getting hurt. We have started putting Storm in her pen to calm down, so I am hoping it works quickly.

Hi I have a 10 year old Staffy (Gus) and we brought home an 8 week old Staffy (Elvis) on Sunday. My Gussy puts up the nipping for a couple of seconds but he Really tells him off snarling growling etc he won't hurt him but I just leave them to get on with it and don't say anything. Only issue I'm having is Toy Wars over tennis balls
