Laws on taking my Staffy to live in Spain with me?
Hi new to this site, first post.
I have one pedigree staffy. Shes fully neutered, vaccinated, chipped, kennel cough etc etc.
We are considering moving to Spain or buying a holiday home there and going over there in 6 weeks holidays with our kids.
Can i take my staffy over there easily for a long stay?? Via plane or car is it a complicated process?
If we were to move over what laws are in place for staffies? Know they are on the dangerous dogs list but keep getting diff info with regards to testing insurance and possibly muzzling her which i dont want to do!
Thanks

Hi ya, welcome to the forum from Flo & me
This link tells you what you need to do to take your girl to Spain http://www.idealspain.com/Pages/Information/pets_abroad.htm
If you Fly you will need to contact the airline to see what the carriage conditions are i.e. crate size etc as they are all slightly different and will charge differently too. Look on their web site or search on the web site, the info will be there somewhere.
the Pets passport is really quiet simple, one of our moderators is currently in France with 2 of her pooches and does so regularly
This was lifted from another web site
Spain
The Royal decree of 2002 entered restrictions on dog breeds such as:
1.American Pitbull Terrier
2.American Staffordshire Terrier
3.Dogo Argentino
4.English Bull Terrier
5.Staffordshire Bull Terrier
6.Rottweiler
7.Akita inu
8.Fila Brasileiro (Brazilian Mastiff)
9.Tosa Inu
In order to obtain a license for the housing of these breeds its owner must be of a legal age, have no criminal records, be mentally and physically healthy, as well as get liability insurance for a total of 120 000 euros.

as they are on the dangerous dogs list for Spain, you WILL have to use a muzzle.
