Hi and welcome to the forum!
I'm afraid I have no idea why your posts aren't showing. Maybe try again now a couple of us have replied?
I'll wait to see if you can add more detail, but in the meantime if it is sudden and he's not eating at all I'd take him to the vet. It could be a sign of something amiss, such as a blockage.
Hopefully hear more from you later.

Re: Frankie Not Eating
First of all can i say hello to everyone from myself and Frankie ..
My partner and i got Frankie on Monday hes 6 months old weighing 14.3kg.
The lady we baught him from gave us a full bag of taste of the wild food saying thats what he had been feeding on.
Anyway on Monday night i gave him his first bowl of food in his new home which he barely touched. Again today i gave him his feed around the same time, again barely touched.
Could this be due to the hige change for him or is there something i should be concerned about? He was very playful yesterday but today he has been very sleepy and done nothing much but sleep (apart from our walk)
Thanks in advance for any help
Regards Matty

Re: Frankie Not Eating
it could well be the change - he might feel unsettled. but to be safe, i'd book an appointment at the vets which is something you probably should do anyway so that you're registered with them.
how is he this morning?

Re: Frankie Not Eating
Hi Matthew, welcome from Misty and I. Frankie looks absolutely beautiful! It must be a major change for him, out of interest why did his last owners rehome him?
I'd take him to the vet just for a once over. We got Misty when she was fourteen months old and took her to the vet for a quick check.
Sure he will be fine when he has settled in. Well done on giving him a home.

Re: Frankie Not Eating
He's laid on the rug very quiet. He was excited when we got up this morning. I tried splitting his food down into 2 bowls today to see if this helps but it looks as though he's just pushed it around his dish.
My partner is currently on the phone to the vets as we speak hopefully he will be sorted soon.
Thank you for all your responses

Re: Frankie Not Eating
Hi ya Matty, a change of home or routine can unsettle them for sure. A visit to the vet isn't a bad thing at all even if only to put your minds at rest.
Sometimes my girl doesn't want her morning kibble until she's had a treat which then gets her tummy rumbling and the bowl is emptied soon after. You could try a small treat and see if that gets him eating his main food.
Welcome to the forum from Flo and me btw

Re: Frankie Not Eating
Thank you for your replies
He had to be re-homed due to family circumstances. They had to take care of a seriously ill grandparent and it was taking up time that could of been with Frankie.
The vet said to try him a few more days then to take him in if theres no change.
Fingers crossed he will settle down soon

Re: Frankie Not Eating
If he's happy in himself then I would agree with the vet. To be honest, I've never heard of a Staffy that has deliberately starved itself so I would guess he'll start soon enough.
let us know how you get on.

Re: Frankie Not Eating
Hi - my Buddy suddenly stopped eating when he was around the same age as Frankie -I tried everything - if you read my previous posts you will see what I mean - he refused to go near his dish .. I just kept persevering - trying different food - different times of the day and finally after about 4 months he slowly started eating out of his bowl again and now whilst he is never going to be a big eater in one go , he is eating much better and at a year old weighs 20kg and is full of energy - if the vet checks him and there is no medical problem it is probably just the change of environment they are very emotional dogs he needs time to settle bless him - try him with a treat or two if he eats them then I am sure he will eat his food given time. let us know how he gets on

Re: Frankie Not Eating
It might also be that there was a smell of something where the bowl was being put or something like that.
Very pleased you've got it sorted out though.
