Staffy + God only knows what cross breed puppy questions
My cousins dog had a huge litter (11 pups I think?) The father was pure Staffy, the bitch was... well nobody is really sure at this point. Nice looking dog though, on the smaller end of the medium sized dog range.
I had the pick of the litter- a lot of them were much bigger but my little guy was the only one who consistently managed to escape his enclosure so naturally I had to pick him. It was a mistake to pick him up too early (around 40 days old) but the mother wasn't producing enough milk they were all underweight. Since I had two 4 mo. old puppies at home at that time I figured he'd be okay. Named the Pup Kong.
Since he's a crossbreed, I don't know what to expect growth wise.I always get laughed at when I mention the dog is half staffy but I love the dog anyway (I think when they think pitbull they see the wide head muscular body). He's got longer thinner legs than any staffy pup I've seen online but his paws are large in proportion to his legs. His head from the top looks like a staffy but his snout is just ever slightly longer. His jaw is huge though so he "might?" grow into it right? his hind quarters spine are pretty prominent (is that normal or is he underweight) which is strange since his ribs are only visible when he eats so by all indications his weight is normal. He is small (around 5.5 kg) for a 3 month old male. My vet figures he'll end up around 25-30 kg. Also he kind of got too adventurous and got himself run over by a ca- nothing broken though (at least that's what the vet figures. I live in rural philippines. vets don't have xray machines) he's up and running though so I hope that's a good thing. Thing is, this pup eats a lot and still remains lean. He's up to date with his deworming so I don't know if that's it. Is that a breed thing?
I've seen another vet and she's suggesting I supplement his normal kibble with rice? thoughts on that?

Re: Staffy + God only knows what cross breed puppy questions
I have a staffy/JRT cross. But in the past have had both staffies and bullies.
Eating a lot isn't particularly a staffy thing - some do, some don't My present dog eats the bare minimum - she's simply not that bothered about food. Your pup is still growing so may be a bit of a voracious eater. If he's wormed I wouldn't worry too much.
My dog doesn't eat kibble - she likes cooked eat and fish and we often give her a bit of rice with it. It seems to do no harm and I think gives her a more balanced diet.

Re: Staffy + God only knows what cross breed puppy questions
So sorry, missed this post.
A picture will help with the cross question and I guess if he's up and running around all ok he didn't get hurt with his encounter with the car
Rice is really a filler and won't give much useful nutrition but equally won't do any harm if given with good food and as you say, he eats a lot, perhaps not a bad thing
