Really wound up
I took Katy out for her usual run with my mate Lynn & Wednesday this afternoon. We were running them in the field up the road from us that has an adjoining footpath in the middle, as we got to that gate a couple were about to come through. She called out are our dogs friendly? Lynn said yes to hers & I shouted that Katy is very nervous thinking she would wait for us to pass. But no she opened the gate & this little black terrier came charging through straight to Katy. Now she can handle it if they approach slowly but this one was right in her face She stood still for a while but wasn't happy, the little thing started growling so Katy obviously returned the favour & used her body to push the little thing away. While this was briefly going on the woman was shrieking at her husband to pick it up They stormed off with her shouting that my dog should be kept on a lead, obviously she missed the part of her dog causing the issue. Absolutely ruined our walk as they were heading for the same walk as us

Re: Really wound up
Funny how they always miss the fact that it was their pooch that caused the incident. I think Katy should get an extra treat for behaving so well actually

Thanks Ian, Katy didn't even show her teeth!!! Unfortunately I didn't have any wine in the house or I would of hit it hard, I was that angry They never notice that their prize poochies have the attitude

Re: Really wound up
But it's always the Staffies fault, doesn't matter what happens it's ALWAYS the staff at fault.
Ian's right I think Katy handled it very well. The couple sound like a right pair!!

Yes Sheila much calmer today, but they are enough to make you want to pin the owners down & knock some sense into them (verbally not physically)

Re: Really wound up
sounds familiar....normal mentality of a non bull breed owner...our dogs are to blame...you've not read the papers...?...they tell us so...and how wrong they are....blame the deed not the breed...having had and been around staffies all my life...you learn to grow a very thick skin...you want to see the size of my shoulders as well...extremely broad...but some people just need planting....but what they don't know or understand scares them...doesn't make it right ...deep breaths...and an hour down the gym on the punch bag ..works wonders....

Re: Really wound up
napoleon syndrome ....what makes me laugh is when they say...little smoochycoms tiger or what ever its name is...say that their dog is fine with other dogs ..only to get really snappy with mine and others...and go 'he/she is not normally like that'...or they think its funny....sorry I don't think its funny and yes your dog normally does that...if it was mine....well....you know the rest...
