New Staffie Mum - Mines got gas
Hey everyone!
I am a new Staffie mum to a beautiful 2.5 year old boy called Bertie Wooster. He has incredible gas and was wondering if anyone can recommend a food that may help with this. He is currently on James Wellbeloved as this is what he was given at the rescue home!!
Thank you
Shellbot and Dirty Bertie xx

Re: New Staffie Mum - Mines got gas
Hi & Welcome to the Forum from Flo and me
Jameswellbeloved is pretty good food and I'm impressed that the rescue centre was giving that. You might need to experiment with food to find what does or doesn't cause the gas. My girl has a mix of Jameswellbeloved & Wainwrights wet and she isn't too bad at all.
Well done on the rescue too

Thank you for the welcome! I had heard James Wellbeloved was a good food so wasn't keen to take him off it! Maybe I will try charcoal biscuits!

Wainwrights grain free is different to normal wainwrights. MUCH higher protein and as it says, NO grains at all. The carbs are made from sweet potato. It is higher in fibre, so im really hoping Lexi doesn't have accidents in her cage...she did with normal wainwrights but only like once a month or so.
I'm not sure if i got the smal/medium breed bag or not, but the nuts are also smaller, and she seems to have eaten it slower which means less air (which = farts)

Re: New Staffie Mum - Mines got gas
Welcome from me and Misty. Well done on the rescue , its lovely to hear about dogs getting a forever home. Bertie Wooster looks unbelievably gorgeous!!
Misty had bad bottom burps when we got her but her old owners fed her Bakers. We put her straightaway on Wrainwrights and it cut her smells down a lot! She then went on to James Welbeloved and again no bad smells but she then got bored of dried food so shes on Natures Menu wet food now which she loves and the gas has never returned ( apart from the odd one which makes us flee the house screaming for air)

Re: New Staffie Mum - Mines got gas
So far so good. There is a definite reduction in the farting. Pets at home have a sale on it atm so it is £30 for a 10kg bag
