Early Morning Rant
Topic of the rant: Muzzles!
I ordered Texas a fantastic looking muzzle. Really smart looking, specifically designed to fit staffy type faces (yknow, short and wide). I paid a stupid amount for it, it took a month to get here. Obviously it's too big! I swear I measured her up right! I think I ordered the smallest size too.
I'm pretty sure I can send it back and get a refund. But that's not my issue. My issue is: why on earth are good muzzles so difficult to find! Most pet stores only sell the Baskervilles Ultra - a great muzzle, don't get me wrong. It's the one we have at have at the minute. But it's just the wrong shape for Texas and it rubs her raw even with padding on.
If pet stores could only sell a wider range then I could maybe size her up correctly.
All I want is a nice fitting, comfortable muzzle that she's happy to wear each day. It's very frustrating!!!

Re: Early Morning Rant
must be I have no experience with muzzles I guess they are similar to harnesses and collars that depending on the manufacturer they must measure in a different way. did they give a size guide at all for the muzzle ? hopefully someone will be along shortly with advice and sizes good luck.

Re: Early Morning Rant
Yeah they had a size guide and I'm sure I picked the right size that sounded like it's fit right. The wrestling I had to do with puppygirl to put a tape measure near her face! >.<
I think they're willing to give a refund or swap it easy enough >.< I just feel the whole process of buying a muzzle should be as easy as harness or coat shopping >.<

I have no choice on the coat front. Tex won't step foot in rain or wind without one! Little Diva
Re: Early Morning Rant
Its a shame there's not been a home made version turned up anywhere that could be made of cloth/t shirt yarn of some sort that's tough but soft. Maybe kind of a crochet basket type thing. I'm going to have a bit of a play & experiment & see if I can come up with something. You never know it might be great and take off lol. Good job I love to crochet and knit toys etc.,
Oh - just googled for crochet muzzle for dogs and there's loads so will have a go and see what Milo thinks to it

Re: Early Morning Rant
Oh my I've never been able to relate to anything as much as this!!
I bought Milo 3 different sized baskerville ultra muzzles and none of them fit, I've went with the closest size (the 4) as it's big enough for his big mouth but way to long for his snout! I'm going to have to use padding on it before we use it for real as I'm worried it'll ride up towards his eyes!

Re: Early Morning Rant
Mail order can be a right pain. I can't offer any real advice on this but hope you find something that fits soon.
