Sensitive Stomach food change?

Hello,
I was wondering if any of you could advise me on food.
We inherited an amazing Staff about 6 months ago.
After a couple of months of having her (and keeping her on the same food she had been on before) she started to get sick. Every 3 or 4 days she was vomiting and lost loads of weight over the course of a week.
Anyway, vet job, so he said it was probably her diet and we moved her, on his recommendation, onto Chappie.
It seems to have worked, and she was only sick once, about 2 weeks after changing, the day after she had a bit of Sunday's roast beef.
So after that, and for the last few months she has just had her dog food, with the odd bit of roast chicken as tit bits, (oh and a mince pie she stole before father Christmas got down the chimney to eat it!!). She's back to perfect weight, and is fine, but I really don't like this Chappies stuff. Apart from the fact that it stinks, if her stomach will tolerate it, I would like her to not just be stuck on chicken and fish forever (and whatever else they stick in it!)
I may just be being anal, and should stick to what works, but I thought I should try something else and see if she can stomach it before finally deciding. So I was wondering if any of you lovely people can recommend a nice dog food (wet or mixed) that won't break the bank, that I can try switching her on to (gradually of course)?

Chappie is recommended by vets when our dogs have an upset stomach. But I agree not a good food long term. I can recommend Wainwright trays which is medium priced and hypo-allergenic. Lots of our members use this and my old girl loved it.
Please take care when changing food. Add slowly over about 7 days so as not to upset her tummy.

chappie is fine for short term, but i wouldn't use it for more than a few days just to settle her tummy.

wainwrights is good, but so is naturediet as it has no fillers (other than rice in some) and they have natural bone in them as well. you can buy a pack of 18 trays for about £16 which isn't bad for a quality food.

Thank you for your suggestions. I've had a bit of an online search and think I will probably try the Naturediet stuff. I don't drive, and through will ultimately be ordering in bulk, if that bulk runs out I need to be able to pick some up within walking distance, so that seems to be the easiest to get hold of - we have a Wilko nearby which stocks, whereas the walk to petsathome for wainwrights is not a fun one!!!!

Welcome from me and Misty. Yes Misty is on Natures menu country hunters versions which is like nature diet and her dandruff has cleared up so well and she loves her food now! Do let us know how Tia gets on. Beautiful pic

Hello, Just to update. We are now fully converted to naturediet and it's gone down a storm! She absolutely loves it and seems as healthy as you like In fact, where she used to eat half her food and then come back and finish later she now scoffs the lot. The only downside seems to be her lovely smelling (not!) love puffs are on the increase, but ho hum, could be worse I spose. 1 healthy happy Staff!!

Glad she's getting on well my girl is on ND and does so well on it! The excess wind may just be the switch over. Are you sticking to one meat or switching between?

We do different flavours and she loves them all. We did just chicken for the change over but after that we tried others and they all seem to be a success.

Glad its worked out for your dog. It's a nightmare trying to find the right food when they have a funny tummy. I have switched mine to natural instincts raw a couple of months ago and it works lovely. Small poos and hardly any wind. It even makes their coat odourless. It is a pain though because I had to get another freezer just to put it in.

The wind from Chappie is horrendous lol xx

you do get the natures diet grain free option may be something to look into
