Stupidity!
I am so angry. Thismorning, I was strolling along with Dodge on his lead, minding our own business. Then out of a house came a big retriever and another dog, possibly a labradoodle. The retriever immediately jumped on Dodge, growling and trying to bite him and the other dog was running round trying to join in. Meanwhile, the owner just stood there. I grabbed the retriever off my dog and told her to take him, which she did with difficulty. Instead of the apology I was expecting, I was told her dogs were 'only playing' and I couldn't talk, as I've got a pitball!
Well I put her in her place and told her my dog is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who didn't retaliate to her obviously out of control dogs! But it made no difference, she still had to have the last word. Can you imagine if it had been my boy who'd jumped on her dogs, she wouldn't have thought that 'just playing' would she.

Re: Stupidity!
Unbelievable! Is Dodger ok? (Lovely name) She was completely in the wrong as her dogs should not of been on the street. You are so right as imagine if the roles were reversed. I can see the Daily Mail headline now,- Dangerous Staff loose on the streets and out for blood, attacks two innocent dogs and owner was wearing a hoodie. Hope you are both ok, at least you can console yourself as Dodger didn't react and you have a very well behaved dog unlike her!

Re: Stupidity!
It's frustrating !!!
This woman clearly knew she and her dogs were in the wrong but couldn't have the decency to face up to the fact and tried to apportion the blame anywhere but with herself.
Even if Dodge were a pit bull it doesn't excuse her dogs behaviour. I think there should be some sort of enforcement of a licence or something so that owners have to demonstrate that they can keep there dogs under control

I'm pleased to say Dodger was fine and I was very proud of his behaviour! Shows what good natured dogs staffies are!

Always the way. Poor bull breeds are so discriminated against.

Re: Stupidity!
When I was 10 I let my Grandma's beagle-corgi cross (intact) out of the house to greet my Mum coming home. Normally he'd just bound over to her, no harm done. This time, a kid was walking past with a big blonde intact dog and my dog went for him. Luckily nothing more than a ripped ear happened on either side, but it knocked a fair amount of sense into me.
The utter *******ing I got off my entire family stays with me to this day. I was in the wrong then, and this woman was clearly in the wrong too.
I try to make sure I'm reasonably far away from houses with dogs in them in case they're territorial.
