Coming into season??
Hi there.
Since last weekend, Elsa has had a swollen vulva and I thought that it might be a sign she was coming into season. My dog walker pals also noticed this and thought that it was bigger than normal too. But the last 2 days it seems to have gone down again. Is this normal? I've checked her bedding and there is no sign of any bleeding either, so is this a false alarm? I was thinking that it would progress to her first season but it doesn't look as though it is going to. Has anybody else experienced this?
Thanks

Re: Coming into season??
Kiki had that a couple of times as well and made me wonder if she would finally be inheat.
But since Kiki went into heat little over a week ago, I can safely say that you will notice and there Will be no mismaking. Her lady parts will look a bit more than just swollen, they become huuuuge and will seem to fall out. She will also start licking her parts almost constantly.

Re: Coming into season??
Thanks for the advice, I think her lady bits are looking a bit swollen again today. Guess it's just wait and see, and yes, keep her away from male dogs.

Re: Coming into season??
Elsa has just finished her first season. The bleeding wasn't a problem. She was really light and it was totally manageable. She went off her food for a few days and was really sleepy too. The hardest thing was keeping her on the lead because she is used to playing with her doggy pals off the lead. She's now back to her normal self and enjoying running ragged with her playmates. We're going to get her booked in to be spayed in a few months. Xx

Glad to see she's got through ok, its a bit worrying with the 1st one as they don't know what they are going through. Bleeding is heavier the older they get I believe, but glad to see you are going to get her spayed
