natures menu?
Hi I went to get the dogs food tonight and had a look in the freezer section at the raw food..I bought a 2kg bag of chicken mince , a 2 kg bag of tripe, a 2kg bag of beef chunks, 10 packs of 400g turkey and chicken portions and three 1kg bags of puppy chunks...all from natures menu...I also brought them their normal bags of James welbeloved.
Anyway I just wanted to know if it's any good and if it's ok to give a 50/50 with the dry food then on to 100% (along with pasta and rice as usual)raw after a bit
Thanks

Misty has natures menu country hunter frozen nuggets and the country hunter tins. She absoutely loves them. I also mix in a raw egg or sardine or mackerels once a week or so.

Re: natures menu?
With misty it had the opposite effect. Since going on to it she very rarely clears a room. Before when she was on dry she could empty a room in seconds

Re: natures menu?
Sounds like you've hit a winner there. As a general rule, the better the food the less waste you'll get from the other end

Re: natures menu?
Is there any rubbish in the natures menu food...would it be as healthy for them as a high grade dry food? Just seems quite reasonable... gona order from landywoods next as they are better value..(if they deliver to Northern Ireland??)

Re: natures menu?
Personally I would prefer natures and not the dry formula of Kibble but it's really down to each individual Dog. Mine prefers a mix of kibble and wet.
Also, if you think about it from a Dogs point of view, kibble could become quiet boring

Re: natures menu?
Yeah that's why I want to feed with raw as it's too boring for them to have kibble all the time (even though they get pasta rice and porridge too)

Re: natures menu?
I'm really happy with the raw diet, it has done my pups tummy the world of good. He is far less windy, does smally poops, goes less often and even his coat doesn't smell hardly atall.

Re: natures menu?
Elsa loves natures menu especially the salmon nuggets. I used to have a problem getting her to eat when she was on dry food but now, her food lasts a few seconds in her bowl and it's gone. And she's definitely a lot less windy

I may have to consider this always used Nature diet meat packs but Vin has been full of wind of late perhaps as he is getting older just needs a change

Re: natures menu?
Just make sure if you bring them off the kibble you start adding in bone/offal/liver as well. not just the mince on its own otherwise your pup will miss out on some nutrients.
Tex was fed on natures menu but i didn't like the amount of rice and stuff that was in the complete packets. Each to their own, Tex gets nothing but meat and bone (ok thats a lie she gets the occassional treat of toast but you all know what i mean ) so the natures menu complete packs weren't for me so I just get minces from a slightly cheaper supplier now

Re: natures menu?
Yes I agree about the less windy effects!
Misty has the Country Hunter nature's menu tins and this has no grain in and they contain minced bone. She loves the stuff!
