Injured TIRED!

Post by Laura 123 Wed Dec 09 2015, 09:59

So night 2 didn't go to well. Wee Bella was determined she didn't want to sleep in her bed, but wanted into mine. Determined to stick to having her in her own bed I had the hot water bottle and a cuddly toy but she'd lie for a wee while then start crying wanting in to my bed. Had the whole house awake lol. Despite this, I think in love her a little more this morning. Can anyone Help!!

Do you have a crate? If so you can try putting the crate in your room and putting a blanket over it

I have a doggy playpen where I put her wee bed. Haven't tried a blanket over it but will gladly try that tonight. Thank you

Laura, try putting an article of your clothing in with her (Something you've worn) so that she can smell you. This often provides comfort.

Sometimes you have to exercise some tough love too. If you give in now you might find yourself sharing your bed with a 17kg Staffy in a few months Rolling Eyes

I gave in after a few days Lol. Started off with the crate, then her bed came out of the crate to the side of our bed Laughing
To be fair, she will sleep most of the night on her bed, but when i wake up in the morning you can guarantee she will be under our duvet. rolling on the floor

I'm popping this over to the puppy section, Laura, rather than the introductions.

As the others have said, keep going and she should learn quickly. Do you play with her before bedtime? It might help her to settle more quickly if you play thinking games (trying to find things) so that her mind is tired.
