Advice with buying a Staffy
First topic message reminder :
Hello there, I'm new here so hello everyone, me and my wife and 7yr old boy have decided to get a family dog, I'm a site manager in London so I wanted a dog that could come with me to work.
And my family love nice long walks.
Anyway to the point we have found a 1 year old male and we will be its 4th owner.
Apparently a lad bought it and then his grandmother had it and now it's with a couple and 3 kids.
The man is now ill and the lady cannot give the Staffy the attention it's needs.
I've asked as much as possible and if it was good with kids and other dogs and she said yes.
I should be excited but I'm just worrying now that all the moving from house to house would effect it at all.
Has anyone else had a similar experience. Am I worrying about nothing, is there anything I should look out for.
Thank you for reading
Steve

He is thank you bless him he is so wonderful, and regarding his name we was thinking of changing it but thought we would get home settled first, didn't want to change to much to quick.

Re: Advice with buying a Staffy
When we got ours we changed the name immediately. So he associated the new home with the new name. But then i really don't think dogs care for names. Its more tones.

It is more tones... When we got my girl she had had her name changed from Pinder to Fluer... I call her Flo at home but she responds to DOG when walking
Not sure how that works with a Deaf dog

Awww Wow, so cute He looks just like my Maya, even down to the splodgey belly Don`t forget to add some fish to Harveys diet Steve. They love tinned sardines/mackerel Fillets/tuna, in sunflower oil once or twice a week. Full of vitamins, and his coat will gleam.

I guess it's harvey after harvey [two-face] dent from Batman?
Gorgeous fella and I bet he'll be spoilt rotten by all the builders coming in to give him a fuss.

Re: Advice with buying a Staffy
Hey I'm a bit slow on this thread but sounds like you have made a friend for life. Well done on all the background work and changing his food. When we adopted is we were his third owner and although he still has a big issue with other dogs , he is the funniest cheekiest loving dog and we would be without him.
I bet he will be spoils to bits but have rules in place as he will need time to settle down
Congratulations can't wait to see photos. And ask any questions we are here to help and have lots of experience between us
