Koda's off to the vet

OH rang to say his eye is closing, swollen and weeping. Not sure what he's done to it, maybe been stung by something, or maybe ran into a branch/bush perhaps ? He was ok this morning ! He's never been to the vet for anything other than routine jabs. I am at work, a 2 hour drive away, am beside myself

Oh no! Let us know what happens and big cuddles to Koda!

Don't worry overly, Bek. It could be something like a bit of grass, and even a sting can be very quickly over with. He'll be right as rain soon. x

What did the vets say the cause was Bek ?

Thanks everyone. They're not sure, put dye in to ensure no damage to retina (all good), could be he's run into a branch or got grass seed in it they said. Pretty average vet (we just moved 4 wks ago and used them as 2 min walk from home), but have name of a good vet nearby now from friends so will put the steroid drops in for day or two and if no better nip him down the road to the good one. He didn't eat last nite but is drinking ok and was just a bit mopey (extra cuddles YAY!!). Less swelling today so hopefully headed in right direction. Sorry for scrambled post am using my phone to write ahhh!

I felt awful this morn i lured him into cuddles on the bed then held him down and got them in, he ran off looking back at me when he stopped, he got BBQ'd steak for being so good (& me being so awful)!

Aww poor poor Koda, aren't us mum's horrible! Poor little boy, hope he gets better soon x

How to make a dog think you're terrible in one easy go - eye or ear drops! Chaos had ear drops a while back, it was horrible having to do them.

Good to hear Koda's eye's looking better already. How's the cone going?

Ugh! Cone only on briefly so far, hes been really good not scratching it - too lethargic i think! Lets see how tomorrow pans out tho.

Oh good! Do you still have to torture him with the drops for a bit longer?

Happened Mon lunch time so he got drops Mon nite, twice Tues but i didnt this morn as looked pretty good. OH will put them in today if it shows any signs of flaring up. Such a relief!!
