ADVICE NEEDED - 12 week old puppy has snapped her tooth!
Hi, I was just wondering whether anyone could help at all? My puppy was chewing on my arm earlier and I noticed that her left canine tooth was shorter than her right one. When I looked closer I could see that she had somehow snapped off the tip and front of the tooth (I can see an indentation all the way down the tooth that is left). She doesn't seem in any pain and is still eating so my husband thinks we should just leave it as she will lose that tooth eventually anyway but I'm worried that it could get infected as it could be a couple of months before she loses them. I want to get in touch with a vet but my husband says I should just leave it. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do?
Thanks in advance,
Linzi.

I would too, it's not worth waiting for it to grow out and risk infection in the mean time. My pup had a tooth knocked out when play fighting at 4 mths i took him to the vet wjo gave it a good clean and made sure it was all out. Let us know how you get on.

I'm sure all will be fine but doesn't hurt to get it checked out.

Re: ADVICE NEEDED - 12 week old puppy has snapped her tooth!
So I took her to the vets who told me that as a vet she has to say that as the tooth is fractured it should be taken out, however she said that if Honey was her dog then personally she would leave it as she doesn't seem in any pain and is still eating and chewing as normal. She has told me to keep an eye on her and to go back if there is any sign of infection and to call for some painkillers if she goes off her food or paws at her face and there is no sign of infection there. The vet said that it will probably fall out in a couple of months anyway and if not when we have her spayed (which she said should be at 6 months old) they can take it out for no extra charge then. Thank you for the advice, I can stop worrying about her now x

Thats great news that the tooth is't causing any dramas & Honey is't in any pain, & now you dont have to worry .
