Re: mouthing or nasty
Ok... You are not being ravaged by a demented puppy. Puppies don't know what aggression is. When she has your hand/leg/torso in her razor sharp teeth prize the jaw open and replace with a toy.
Yelping works with some but not all so redirecting onto a toy will give you some respite.
This will pass and you'll end up with the most loyal, loving Dog and look back and wonder what the fuss was all about.

Re: mouthing or nasty
Marley was like that it will get better with time. I found the best way to stop Marley was the leave it command. The 'no' never really worked with him. Also just keep swapping hands with toys. If that doesn't work try distraction, like sit give paw etc that always distracting Marley enough to forget about the biting

Re: mouthing or nasty
Ruby was exactly the same at that age and them little teeth are so sharp they're like needles! I was full of cuts and bruises. I echo the above advice and it does pass once them little teeth fall out. I remember her hanging off my clothes and I had holes in almost everything I wore but it does pass.
Good luck and please don't give up.

Re: mouthing or nasty
Thanks for your help,we will both try with the leave command and distraction, pepsi is very good with the sit command, her favourite toy at the moment are plastic pop bottles, they trigger zooming which tire her out, then we get peace for a couple of hours..... Then it restarts...........

Re: mouthing or nasty
Sometimes Marley nipped a lot when he was tired too so I used to put him in his crate cover it and within mins he'd be fast asleep. Always came out happy and less nippy maybe your little one is tired? It will get easier tho Marleys zoomies always started at about 8 in the night when I'm ready to chill on the sette they definitely know what they are doing haha

Try tiring out your wee pup just before bedtime with a ball and a rope toy as well as above suggestions .

Re: mouthing or nasty
Very normal behavior for a pup. She is trying to play and learning bite inhibition. She also has very sharp teeth. Try ignoring her when she does this as it is the opposite reaction of what she is seeking. You could also yelp when she bites to hard so she knows she is hurting you

Re: mouthing or nasty
Some people look down on the "bitter apple or "bitter lime" but this works greatly with my 12 week old pup. I have a 16 month old toddler so it is used only when he is not responding to the yelps or "no bite" "drop it" commands. Like everyone says, it all gets better in time. I would advice not to push at him as this encourages more play for the pup. As Ian stated redirection is key. Good luck.

It will definitely pass, Mia was exactly the same and if i look back to my 1st post or posts it was probably the same except it was my girlfriend who was close to giving up on Mia but she has turned out to be the most loving loyal dog.

Re: mouthing or nasty
my baby boy has been driving me nuts at times with puppy biting..im very gradually getting off my skin, but he's a sod for pulling my laces, chewing my trainers or jeans....he's gives it proper Staffie tugging and growling...I've been telling him 'Leave it', then the moment he lets go, even if it's only for a second i use a clicker say 'yes' and give him a piece of chicken....Sometimes it works, but at others he just carries on tugging...It can be incredibly frustrating..I've tried yelping, in fact, sometimes it's been a genuine OUCH! particularly when he was hanging off my ear!!! (seriously!!) But he doesn't really take much notice..I left him in the kitchen alone for 30 seconds to a minute, but then he starts up again....Little sh1t...!!

Re: mouthing or nasty
Spike had the zoomiest of zoomies today too..Ive felt just about every emotion today....He went bonkers after a lovely 10 minutes of being gentle and learning to sit..we played nicely then he went AWOL....eventually after ragging my clothes, toe nipping and rug chewing i gave him a time in the kitchen, but i felt horrible....I took the opportunity to vacuum...then i noticed through the kitchen door that he'd opened the understairs cupboard door....i braced myself for the worst and went into the kitchen, only for him to look up at me innocently from the cosy little nest he had made from my jacket that he had presumably pulled from the hook.....
I suffer from dry eyes and they have been worse since i had my little mate..i am praying that it has nothing to do with him, but they have been very red and sore the last couple of days....Hopefully im just going through a phase, as my eyes can be quite variable, but ive been putting eye drops in like crazy...Im really worried in case im allergic to my little pudding...

I heard about water spray but I haven't tried it, aw they do love the zoomies every night at 8 Marley goes wild for about 15 mins I just sit back and wait for him to finish! Aw bless him cutching to your things when I first had Marley he stole a pair of my slippers but he didn't chew them he dragged them in his cage to sleep with their still in there now lol. Could be a reaction to the pup hope not tho have you tried googling normal symptoms?

Re: mouthing or nasty
Buddy was just the same - always trying to bite my husband but that was mainly because he plays rough with him and Buddy is asking to play the way only a puppy knows by grabbing with his mouth.. it does get better - leave it is better than no, also the "Enough" command is great - this comes in handy to stop any kind of unwanted behaviour , we found that he was/is worse when tired so we used to watch when he started getting worse off to bed in his crate for a snooze - woke up a better puppy - they will mouth you as that is how they communicate like a toddler putting things in their mouth - we let Buddy mouth but kept saying nicely as he was doing it and moving away and saying leave if it hurt- now when he is playing and gets a bit full on with his mouth we say "Nicely " and he immediately lets go ,we then say enough and change the game .. your pup will get better don't give up you will have a friend for life..

Re: mouthing or nasty
I will not give up on pepsi,I keep trying different commands swapping 'no'for leave or enough,we are beginning to see slight changes,I know that there is no quick fix to her biting,my poor husband finds it hard because he is in remission from cancer,he says he finds her so funny when she starts zooming at around 5-30pm at night.not so funny when she whacks you in the face......

Re: mouthing or nasty
Pepsi will calm down with the zoomies as she gets older .. everything is so new and exciting to her its her way of letting of steam - I never thought Buddy would ever be able to be stopped but this morning he started zooming and I put my arms out to him as he ran towards me and he stopped and sat down for a cuddle- result!!! he still nips my hubby but stops a lot quicker now.. they do learn but they also push their luck so stay firm but enjoy your little bundle of mischief they are such great dogs

Re: mouthing or nasty
My Staffy was the mouthiest puppy I've ever met, maybe because she was separated from her mum too soon.
We followed a lot of the advice you've already been given...when she bit we would redirect her onto a toy, and have fun with her with it. If she continued biting us we stood up and ignored her, and if she jumped and nipped at us we left the room or put a barrier between us, such as a stair gate.
We started working with her on 'drop it' immediately. We did this to begin with by waiting until she was tugging something (be it a toy or my sleeve!!) then holding a smelly treat to her nose. The instant she let go of the object we clicked and fed her the treat. Eventually we added the cue "drop it" and faded the treat-to-nose action.
Getting a good solid 'sit' is fantastic as well. Our 10 week old puppy has learnt to sit if we are ignoring him for jumping, and our adult Staffy can sit even if she's really excited...extremely useful
Finally over-tired puppies can get themselves very worked up. With both Zoey, when she was a puppy, and our current puppy we would put them into a crate / pen with a stuffed Kong (as Emmahammond25 said, if you freeze them they last longer), a Nylabone and let them sleep. Usually they would have a good long nap, after minimal protest.
I don't personally like the spray bottle method because it can make some puppies scared of you / water / rain / spray bottles / the noise it makes. My older dog's previous owners sprayed him when he was 'naughty', and he's still nervous of water pistols and spray bottles four years later...he is a sensitive boy though
