While you`re here ian, i replied in another thread about leaving the Lead trailing whilst in the house to get pup used to it. Won`t she just chew a nylon one to bits ?

Not always... Only let her trail it for a few mins at a time to begin with and then build the time up. It's all about getting her used to it being attached

Great thanks for that Ian, she is doing really well at the moment, more or less house trained and i have been working with her in the garden. Recall is pretty good, and when it is dark, she will hardly leave my side. She also understands no, and where`s your ball So not bad for a 10 week old.

Re: Maya in Disguise
Blimey, she is doing well. Looks like you got a really smart one there
There will be lapses so be prepared for that and just ignore any slip ups. You'll also have the fun times of teenage years to look forward too

I said that to the wife when we first got Maya, i guess some just learn faster than others. Aye, i know they can be bloody stubborn when they want to be, but as you say persistence, and ignoring slip up`s is the way to go.
Thanks for reminding me of the teenage phase That`s usually when all the fun starts isn`t it ! Seriously though, i am very impressed with her, and if she continues, she should be a great dog. Last injection next monday, then another week and i can get her out on the lead, Hence my question about attaching the lead in the house.

Re: Maya in Disguise
You are going to have so much fun watching her learn all about the world
One more bit of advice, socialise her with other dogs as much as you can when young, it'll pay off big time as she gets older.

Thanks Ian, yes i have been carrying her everywhere with me when out and about, and she has met loads of people, and seen other dogs. As soon as i can put her down, meeting new dogs will be priority.

Re: Maya in Disguise
Don't know if you've thought about it but have you considered classes ?
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but loads swear by them for socialising and learning a bit more about their pups along the way, just an idea to keep in mind Terry

I Googled local classes a while ago Ian, and the closest to me is 2 bus rides away. I don`t drive a car preferring motorbikes, so unless i could get Maya a little helmet and leathers, it`s a no i`m afraid

You`ll have me on photobucket again doing another edit of her Plenty of doggies round here Ian, and the neighbours are great, with a vast selection of breeds, so i`m sure she will get socialized pretty fast.

Yeah like I said it's not everyone's gig but do socialise as much as you can as early as you can and it'll make life easier later on
Get that editing stuff going, I reckon she'll look dead funny
