Question about teeth Empty Question about teeth

Post by KMack02 Tue Jun 16 2015, 19:48

I've noticed peppers teeth are getting wobbly so I'm assuming it's her adult teeth coming through, but I've started to notice that when she's chewing things there's blood. Sometimes quite a bit, is it normal?

I also brought her a stag bar I think it's called, a puppy one, and I'm now a bit worried that she's going to break her teeth so should I avoid giving her it whilst growing her adult teeth?

Could be the stag bar, I wouldnt give her one until she has adult teeth, give vets a quick call if you are worried Smile

If she is teething then a bit of blood on toys and chewy things is quite normal as they fall out.

I would hold back on the stag bar until she is a little older. I've heard people on here using frozen wet tea towels, frozen carrots and frozen kongs to help Smile

When maisie was teething she loved her puppy bone it has rope on it too and it's soft rubber that safed my house I think! There was quite a bit blood when she lost her bigish teeth at the side thought she had a nose bleed one night!

Oh no why don't they put things like "not suitable for wobbly teeth" on these things Sad I definitly brougt one that said suitable for small dogs and puppies thinking it would be ok. I feel awful now.

Hubby has had a look inside her mouth and she's lost one of her bottom teeth.

Stag bar is now out of sight on top of the fridge Sad

I use Rice bones for Buddy - his teeth are not wobbly but he is teething badly and he really likes these - they are hard but after a bit of slobbering they go soft so he gets best of both worlds - I also freeze his Kong bone with a filling in the ends the cold helps and he gets a little treat too

It won't have done any harm, they're just quite hard so may make her mouth more sore from all the chewing! Try giving it to her again once all her big teeth have come through Smile
