Intelligence test failure Empty Intelligence test failure

Post by Guest Thu May 14 2015, 15:24

I just picked up a treat ball in the local charity shop for 50p. Delighted, I rushed hope and popped some little treats in and showed the gang. Chaos was immediately interested and has decided it's his. I showed him how it works and he straight away nudged it again and got another treat. Bingo, I thought.

No. He is now just sitting looking at it waiting for a treat to appear by magic. Laughing How long till he tries the nudge again?

hi liz, i got howie one of these and had exactly the same problem, unless i got the treat out for him he wasnt interested, but now he loves it once he understood what it was all about!! maybe just let him have that and no other toys so he only has that to play with or put a really smelly treat inside to get him interested?

25 minutes, but now he's obsessed. Bless his cottons, he saw the treats go in (watching underneath expecting them to keep falling) and he definitely knew they were in there as he kept sniffing at it then looking at me pleadingly.

I could have helped him out but was fascinated to see what he'd do. He walked away a couple of times but then Millie came towards it and he couldn't have that, could he! Then he finally started nudging it with his nose, and finally gave it a shove that deposited a treat on the floor.

After that, he only had to do it once more to have understood he could control it. Within minutes of that he'd even worked out how to get it stuck from behind the curtain, by pulling it towards him with his foot.

So I'm sorry, Chaos, maybe a little slow to start off with but so quick to work it out once you'd got started.

That made me laugh Col, Flo has a treat ball that is only just still in one piece, it has so many holes in it from her biting it but she knows exactly what to do with it.

Good on ya Chaos, didn't take him too long to figure it out Big Grin
