Have a look here:
http://staffy-bull-terrier.com/stop_your_staffy_puppy_biting
It's worth having a read through the threads in this section as most/all of the issues you'll come across have already been covered. Forewarned is forearmed, plus you'll have ideas on what to do when you first notice something.
This is one thread that's got lots of ideas (ok, lots of my ideas!) on what to do right from the start:

I also like the series of videos by Victoria Stilwell, including this one on puppy mouthing:

There's loads to think about in all that!

Re: Stop Marley nipping at fingers
There is hope..I didn't think Miley would ever stop trying to eat us, but she has been with us just over 2 weeks and her finger chewing has reduced a lot. Teaching her to sit has helped a lot, as she knows it gets her a treat which are much tastier than our fingers!! I've also found only giving her calm attention has helped to, so even when she does take our fingers now it's very much like been Casper 'mouths' and no teeth involved. I've had to teach the kids how to calmly pet her and not stroke her quickly as it was getting hr excited which led to finger chewing...she's now lost her nickname of Jaws

Same we've learnt Lacey to stroke him slower he prefers that, since I've learnt him to sit the finger chewing has reduced he tends to sit now wen I tell him no and he stops chewing lol also give him a toy instead of my fingers haha

Giving the toy instead of the hand, foot, leg, torso will work well if everyone sticks to the same rule Emma

Re: Stop Marley nipping at fingers
He's learning bite inhibition so patience is required. Also, when he starts teething make sure to have some frozed treats like a kong or a towel to help him with the pain.

Re: Stop Marley nipping at fingers
Hi Skye was quite bad for this up until she got her adult teeth really. She still mouths sometimes now but it does not hurt and would not hurt a child, we have a 5 year old and scratching is our main concern but that is because he will rough play with her. Three things helped us and all will probably be in the links you have been provided.
1. When mouthing say no and stop playing immediately, consider giving the dog time out away from the attention they crave.
2. Give a toy instead of your hand, foot, trouser leg, toilet roll or any other object it shouldn't have.
3. Bite inhibition can be taught, playing games like take the treat slowly, or gentle and then when they do mouth is is very softly.
Skye now opens her mouth and closes it and pushes her nose against my hand so where there use to be teeth I now get a wet nose half the time.
Puppy teeth are far worse than adult teeth too much sharper.
You hit the nail on the head though with consistency that's what it is all about, we did struggle to get our 5 year old to do the same as us though at times.
