Cut paw been 3 weeks now

Millie cut one of her pads when we were out for a walk in the woods 3weeks ago.

Took her straight to the vets, I thought it needed stitched, but hey they are the experts, no we will glue it and put a few strips on, heavily bandaged and told to bring her back in a week... that will be 85.00 please.

Week later back to the vets bandage off oh it's not held, we will need to bring her in and stitch it under sedation, 176.00 please.

Bring her back for 2 bandage changes before stitches come out 40.00 please.

And after all this the stitches are out but its still not totally healed,feel terrible for her as she is bursting to get out for a long walk.

But I am totally sickened by my vet, the dog went through unneccasary suffering the first time when they tried the glue only for her to have to be sedated later.

Sometimes I think vets just think they are a licence to print money, not happy that they have taken 350.00 from me the bint on the front counter tried to overcharge me, let her have it with both barrels.

Use mushers secret. its known as the invisible boot. i apply it to my twos feet once a week but when marley slit his pad i applied it each night and he was racing again in two weeks. its amazing stuff

When it's healed I'd make a complaint and look for a different vet if I were you. Those charges are insane and it doesn't sound like they know what they're doing.

It is an established practice that has been going for a long time, they have around a dozen veteranary surgeons, so you do not see the same one everytime, I also pay a direct debit to the healty pet club of 12.99 a month that gives me 10% of things, her worming and inoculations, she is due her annual boosters in August, might then look to change to another vet.

Most vets look at the best option for your dog, these charges are horrendous hope the dogs paws better soon.

on the side of the vet here and you wont find me here much but its hard to stitch a paw. the flesh type doesn't bode well and its almost always a last thing. the prices however are extortionate...

Good news at last, back at vets on Monday and part of the wound was still a bit red,they still wanted it covered but to remove it when she was in the house to let the air get to it.

This worked wonders and it has now closed over and they are happy for her to get back to her normal routine.

PS Nathan my mushers secret was delivered yesterday, so we will be applying this from now on let you know how we get on.

And forget to mention it's her birthday today 2 years old.
