Dog dental.
Tomorrow Pink will be heading to the vets for a full dental.
I was in two minds about the benefits to the risks as it has taken me a few months of desensitization to get her to let me see inside her mouth. Now I have I have seen lots of tartar build up at the back and the poor dog looks like some [insert word of choice] has had a go at filing some of her teeth and canines before she was found. So tomorrow she will be knocked out and our vet will give her mouth a full MOT and they will do any work that I cannot see that has been lurking.
Hopefully she will return home later tomorrow with a nicer feeling mouth, a plate of cooked chicken and be one more step towards being a far happier dog.

Re: Dog dental.
Apart from being very grizzly and whimpering she is not too bad. Looks like she is feeling very sorry for herself and a tad sore stretched out in her soft blankets next to me. Just given her a dose of metacam to combat the soreness round her gums from a really deep clean. Her muzzle is still the one area she can still get fretty over having handled and becomes either scared and gives warnings or is an utter wuss so the vet suggested giving her pain-relief if she appeared to be in any pain or distress. She seems to have opted for utter wuss.
Thankfully she did not need anything major done and whilst someone has had a go at her cannines they have not been too badly damaged, bit of fissure sealant and an annual dental to just keep and eye on her gums and teeth. I have to admit I was ready to fork out the money for back teeth and other hidden work. She has turned her nose up at cooked chicken but has eaten the post-op recovery food and a little of her all time fave lnatures diet lamb dog food.
Mia, thanks for that, I have bought her the XL hedgehog whimzee and will offer it to her in a couple of days and see what she makes of it.
