Advice of amounts to feed
Hi All,
Just after some advice, I have recently switched dog food and am now using 150g trays (butchers choice for example). I am feeding my three year old bitch 3 trays in the morning (around 7:00 am) and three in the evening (around 7:00pm), but she seems to be looking and pining for food a lot more. I exercise her twice a day for a combined total of about 60-75 mins.
Do you think I'm feeding her enough? She has lost weight but this probably due to the increase in exercise and I have tried to cut down on the doggie treats I have been giving her.
Just want to make sure (I'm pretty sure I'm not) that I am under feeding her.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
BonBon23

Re: Advice of amounts to feed
As above, Butchers isn't a very good food. If you're feeding trays I'd recommend Wainwright's 395g trays, or Forthglade Lifestage. It may not even cost you any more if you buy in bulk and the ingredients in both are top quality, especially considering that you need less better quality food to deliver the same quantity of nutrients.
How big is your dog? 60 - 75 minutes isn't that much exercise so if she's losing weight then I'd suggest she's not getting enough nutrients from her food. My advise is to a) switch to a decent brand and b) record her weight and how much food she gets in order to settle on a figure.
