Exploding cushion (Update !!!)

This morning I came downstairs to find one of the new cushions had exploded !!.. More curiously it had been degloved and Flo was heroically saving the cover by laying on it in case it was scared. Now I know what your thinking... It was Flo but NO it couldn't be because I had put them over the back of the sofa as this had happened before and poor Flo got the blame then 
and I know she couldn't reach them !
I didn't take any pictures as I wanted to hide the debris from the wife knowing that Flo would get the blame.... Again

This morning we awoke to a truly horrific scene and I just can't fathom it out. This little critter has been living on the back of the sofa for years.... Don't ask me why, he just has.

Flo obviously decided to euthanise it before another exploding cushion attacked..it was in a very dangerous place on the sofa so close to those dangerous cushions!

That's obviously what's happened, which is then very thoughtful of Flo. The squirrel looks gutted, though.
