Update!!!
Hello Everyone - So we picked up Boris on Friday
It's been manic but he seems to be starting to settle now. He was an escape artist on the first night, even after we tied his doors up on his crate he still got out (still not 100% on how as doors were still tied) so we have zip-tied the entire crate now and have to zip-tie his door every night.
Here's some pictures

Re: Update!!!
Boris looks pretty happy with his new life.
The Tedster lays between my legs like that as well, so funny when they are upside down and you get that great staffy smile.
Well done Boris enjoy your new home

Re: Update!!!
Boris looks very chilled out there despite escaping from his crate, maybe that's why he is chilled out

Yep, that looks about right, I lost the left hand side of my sofa as well the first night Teddy came home.
I am laying full length on the sofa working right now and Tedster is parked down the side of me snoring his head off.

Re: Update!!!
he had to choose the black sofa though didn't he. Not the patterned one which would have hidden the dog hairs

Re: Update!!!
congrats on your new addition
Don't want to be a party pooper but have you though about the safety implications of his crate door being zip tied in the event of a fire etc I would look for another solution

Same as Dave said, something like a snap hook would be much better and quick to get off should you need to.
Boris is a good looking fella! as for the sofa, well you can forget about black clothes from now on as well lol

It's what I was advised by the behaviourist/trainer - Cause he will chew my sofas apart if there's a fire i'll carry the whole thing out with him in it
It won't be permanent, just until he learns it's his postive space and he stays in there on his own x

Re: Update!!!
Ah he's gorgeous Such a sweet little face! Also not meaning to be a party pooper.. but just wondering, is Boris crate trained or was he just shut in there all night straight away for his first night? Sounds like he may be panicking a bit, and could do himself some real damage Biscuit had a panic like this one night when she was in her crate and there was a thunderstorm and she felt like she couldn't get out.. cut all of her mouth open trying to bend the bars open!!

Re: Update!!!
This is just a bit of sillyness
Looking back at the photos, Boris is suffering from what we call "Foxy Ear"
Let me explain, it all comes from this photo of The Tedster
His ears are straight up like a fox, The Tedster can hold his ears like this while standing on all fours but it is more common when he is laying down like Boris is in this photo
Like I suspect a lot of you do, I talk to my dog on a 1 to 1 human basis, like he understands every word I say (which he does)
So when he is laying like Boris is and his ears or ear stand/stands erect like that the conversaton goes something like this
"Oh dear we are suffering from Foxy Ear, but only one" followed by strokeing and scratching around the ear area by me.
Sorry, I probably shouldn't be allowed out with normal people.
