Voodoo's First Day/Night Home
Well as most of you know, we picked up Voodoo yesterday, so I'll tell you my slick story, and hope she's an interesting one.
7am Thursday Morning - Informed car broke a headgasket and the timing belt was about to go. Mechanic gave us 1000km before my car was finished forever.
8am Thursday Morning - Failed to obtain other travel arragements. Did obtain rescue in case of breakdown arrangement. Trip goes ahead as planned.
9:30am Friday Morning - Pick up my lady, pack car.
10:30am Friday - We leave to breeders
12:30pm Friday - Eat gluten free doughnut and yogurt.
3:30pm Friday - Became lost, called breeder, got directions again (second time, same mistake)
4:00pm Friday - Met Voodoo playing the yard with another dog, surrounded by 12 of her family members (mom, dad, uncle, uncle, aunt, and various other dogs owned on property).
4:15pm Friday - Voodoo pooped on older dog. I laughed.
5:00pm Friday - Voodoo enters car. Rides on my lap the whole way (girlfriend drove return trip so I could bound)
5:15pm Friday - Pounding rain begins. Soaked instantly.
6:00pm Friday - Voodoo gets let out to pee. Drinks entire bottle of water. Fears rain. Does not pee. Throws up water on my lap.
7:00pm Friday - Second attempt to pee, fears rain. Attempts to crawl up my lady's pants. Fails. Succeeds in going down her shirt later. I laugh.
9:00pm Friday - Arrive home. Poops in yard. Is proud of herself.
10pm-12am Friday/Sat - Manages to half pee 3 times on white carpet. Is proud of herself. We agree to watch even more carefully.
12:01am Sat - Pup goes in crate to bed. Loves crate. Sleeps instantly.
1:45am Sat - Wakes up, Cries. Goes to pee. Decides to eat lillies instead. Poops.
4:00am Sat - Wakes up, Cries. Goes to pee. Finally pees outside. I feel like less of a failure.
6:00am Sat - Wakes up, Cries. Goes to pee. Decides to run around grass for 5 minutes. Pees. Poops again.
7:00am Sat - I finally convince my OH to get out of bed with her. I try to sleep. Get jealous of OH bonding moment. I continue to be awake.
Rest of day until now - Play, sleep, pee on carpet, pee outside, pee on carpet, pee outside, sleep. Repeat. Poop. Repeat.
She's already figured out the words "Voodoo, Come!".
Still cannot climb steps. Carry is required for all puppy transport to and from bathroom.
She peed on my jeans.
I laughed. I cannot get mad at her.
Also, she pee'd again in her crate after a nap.
Sigh. It's gonna be a long month, and I love every minute.

You are now owned by a staffy
Enjoy your time with her as she grows, definitely get the toilet training happening and never forget your camera.
