Re: Sofa or no sofa
We started off with a no dog on the sofa but howies so cute and he does see to settle easier when he comes up on the sofa, that rule has kind of disappeared lol

Re: Sofa or no sofa
I let Bo on the sofa (as you can tell from my avatar) although most of the time he sits in one of his beds. If it's hot he stretches out on the sofa like a spatchcock chicken. He knows to keep his Stag Bar in his bed so I've no problem with him using the sofa if he wants.
When he was very small he was afraid of the sofa. I'd pick him up and sit him down on my knee and he'd shake and put his ears back. It was a few weeks before he was happy with it, and even then he always put a paw on my knee when he was sitting next to me. Nowadays he's not afraid of anything, apart from tinfoil and frozen waffles.

Re: Sofa or no sofa
We started off with the no sofa rule but that soon got forgotten and she now sleeps on her blanket on the sofa of a night time. She will also choose who she wants to snuggle up to in the evening and then kinda take over that spot on the sofa

Re: Sofa or no sofa
Our sofa is a horrible mangled thing that came with the flat. Gizmo has it as his relaxing spot post-garden rampage. Our one caveat is that he waits until we say 'couch' and then he's allowed up.

Re: Sofa or no sofa
The only place ours aren't allowed is on tables/worksurfaces. All chairs/sofas/beds are for them as much as for us. Chaos and Millie sleep under the duvet with us, Nola could if she wanted to be prefers not to.

Misty isn't keen on being on the sofa, she prefers her bed but she is allowed up when invited!

Re: Sofa or no sofa
We let Harley up but only when we invite and we make him do a command first. It's hard to resist staffs snuggles and when he sits in front of me and gives me that cute look. He is crafty and will jump up when I go the the kitchen but takes one look at me and gets off all guilty lol
