Midnight feaster.
Pink must be really settling in.
For the past week she has been busy hitting the midnight snacks no matter what I try to do.
Thursday evening I found out, eventually, that I had not left the pack of butter at the shops as I thought- some thieving dog had snaffled it and snacked on it very quietly in her 'dog cave' when I went back to the car to haul the rest of the shoppiing in. She then buried the licked clean packaging under her duvet.
Friday I found out she CAN climb up onto the kitchen surfaces AND get the sealed lid off her dog biscuits.
Saturday she was still feeling a bit sorry for herself from too may dog biscuits and a runny tum so she behaved.
Last night she climbed up on the surfaces to get up to knock down the click-lock sealed box of dried meat dog sausages that I buy direct from her Obedience Club as training treats. I thought they were out of her reach. The click lock is child proof but obviously not determined dog proof. Came down this morning to find she had been on a real midnight feast. Lid and ripped empty packaging all over the place and a very smug looking dog. She eats Natures Diet and the sossys have a meat content of 90% so thankfully no sign of distress from bloat....but I have a very full, self satisfied and smug Staffie cross still snoring away gently on the sofa who is possibly planning her next food stealth attack in her sleep.
Needless to say she will not be getting any exciting long walks, games of fetch or more food for the rest of today. I have bought new locks for the cupboards!

Re: Midnight feaster.
My deepest sympathies! I always used to wonder why I saw so many overweight staff/staffx's about the place. Now I know. Everything in my flat is getting increasingly high-up and further away from anything with the potential to be utilised as a climbing tool.
Those clear recycling bags are a nightmare to get past of a morning.

Sounds like Suki and Pink could be sisters. Suki has even jumped up onto the dinning room table and made off with a plate of pasta

Ha ha... Been there seen it and Flo has done it
Finding a half eaten frozen loaf was perhaps the strangest but we learnt after going without toast for a few days.
Now, you know you have a really clever Staff when they put those clickable lids back on and you have no idea they've been in the tub

Re: Midnight feaster.
Oh yes, these starving staffies can be gobsmackingly agile when their first meal in a month is taunting them. Honestly, you would think they'd never been fed some of them, wouldn't you?
The best counter surf steal was by our lurcher, Harley. He not only at a whole double pan of veggie chilli, he also ate the packet of chilli powder that was left next to it. You don't need me to describe the after effects.
