Madison - My first Staffy
Hi All
Thought Id share some pics of my first Staffy girl Madison. As I have said in my introduction thread we havent brought her home just yet as we are soon to be moving house and dont feel its fair to settle her in one home just to then move her to another....so in a few weeks she will be coming home and I cant wait. I am going to visit her every weekend and spending a few hours with her walking and cuddling her which I did yesterday and I took some pics on my phone (sorry about the quality of them!!!) I hope you like them and her!! I her already.....please say Hi to Maddie:
and one of my little old man Banjo (aka Moo)
I have a few questions which might be silly but hoping you can help..
1) What type/colour is Maddie?
2) Do you think she is a cross or a staffy through and through?
3)Why does she grunt? Its very sweet and cute.
4) What type of harness should I get? She walks very nicely but prefer to use a harness.
5) What kind of toys will survive staffy playtime? I am guessing Moo's soft monkey toy wont last long
Thanks all
Nik

Re: Madison - My first Staffy
Lovely pics and thanks for sharing, nice one on the forever home I can see your excited!! Loving moo too, I have a Missy aka Moo!!
I don't know about the cross, they come in so many variations of colour/size/build.
I would say she is a brown brindle (lovely colour).
The grunting, well that's totally normal, my Moo grunts like a pig, sometimes I think she is a pig x staffy!
Toys?? Not alot lasts with staffies and Moos toy will be shreaded all over the floor in minutes!! I use a brand called "petstages", most pets at home do them, we have a frisbee, she wouldn't be without it. You just need to find extra duriable toys to play with or very cheap ones that don't mind being ruined!! Tennis balls etc!!
And again a harness does work well but if she walks well anyway I personally wouldn't bother. If you do then again any good pet shop will have one, for mine I just made sure it was padded, but she no longer wears it.
Good luck on the move and I can't wait to see the pics when She moves in. Welcome to your forever home Maddie!! XxX

1) Brindle & white
2) Full Staff
3) Mostly do it when sniffing grass....if it doesn't sound like a pig its not a staff lol
4) Can't comment im a lover of the flat collar and lead
5) Tough but you have to remember with a staff they all get destroyed sooner rather than later
Great pics and nice one for the forever home.....can't wait to see more pics when your both settled into your new home.

Hi all
Thanks for your replies. I love her colouring and that she has white patches. I wasnt sure if she was a full staffy but Im not bothered as she is beautiful either way.
I think a trip to pets@home before she comes home is in order!!!!
I cant wait to bring her home to our new home either!!!

Looks very much like a staff to me! She's beautiful!
The real tough Kongs are ok, though as youngkaiser says, you should always keep an eye on them! You should also have one particular toy that is only used for training - that way, when it comes out you'll have full attention!!!

re- the kongs i never thought the kongs were indistructable, and kongs i took were not for full time play anyway, as there designed to be stuffed with treats then taken away to be cleaned for the next sesion, i know people have staffs with kongs and there still going strong after months and months of use which i think every one will agree is a long time with a staffy.
