Poorly Pooch Empty Poorly Pooch

So. Couple weeks ago, took Knox over the fields by us for a good run (or bounce, which is more what he does). He was having a good sniff around in the bushes, and then played with a lovely spaniel. When he came running back to me he was dripping blood from his nose. I figured that he's either cut his nose on a thorn in a bush or that the other dog has caught him with his tooth whilst they were playing.

Anywho.........

I went home at lunch time yesterday, as always, to go take him for a walk. Now, the last couple of months he's been doing a bit of inward sneezing. Wasn't too worried about this as he is quite anxious and have been told it could be down to that and just to monitor it, anyway......he met me at the bottom of the stairs, as usual and was doing a little snorting and inward sneezing. He stopped and we went for a walk over the field. Just got over the field and he snorted and blood came out his nose. So I rushed him across the road to my vets but they were closed. Anyway to cut a long story short, got him into the vets for 6pm last night. The other half took him as I was at work. They did a full health check and said that he appeared ok so they booked him in for bloods this morning.

Took him this morning and when he got picked back up they said nothing had shown up at all so they were sending some blood off for external testing, apparently for nasal infections.

Little worried about this but believe that if something major was wrong they would have surely picked this up whilst running the bloods this morning through coags and lungworm etc?

Anyway, just thought I'd vent a little on here as been so worried and now not going to know anything until Tues/Wed next week hurry up!

How stressful you must all feel. It makes you think of foreign bodies or polyps. Will they do any endoscopy or x-ray work do you think?

Very strange, I've not heard of anything like this before. I hope Knox is all ok Vikki, do let us know what the vet discovers.

Thanks all - been quite worried. Although he doesn't seem bothered by it at all. Seems like his left nostril is blocked as we can't feel any air coming out when he snorts and sniffs. Just waiting for the external blood tests to come back but I think it's more likely that he has something stuck up there (little beggar!)

Will keep you all informed xxx

Have you told the vet about him only breathing from one nostril? It might be worth giving them a ring if not.

Not yet I haven't. I might call them on my lunch and see if I can get them to have a ganders this afternoon when I finish.
