God give me strength
Hey guys me again,
So I love my dog and I really really do. But this past 2 weeks she has been testing me and I don't know what to do.
It started with the barking for attention.
Would be laying on her bed then just get up and bark at me or the telly.
She has always lived her toys (she has a large ball with a tennis ball in side which she take everywhere) but the past two weeks I haven't seen her play once. Only when I play tug with her (she leaves when told - she is very good with commands).
She just seems so bored and I can't work out why.
I bought her some new toys incase she was bored of what she had. I walk her twice a day for an hour a time give or take.
I do tricks with her. I fuss her when she is laying on her bed being good
She won't stop digging at everything and just walks around (well jumps around whining for attention.
I've been to the vet they said she is all fine x

Re: God give me strength
How old is she Vicky? I take my Roxy to puppy parties which my local pet shop do every Saturday. She gets to play and have great fun with up to 10 other pups - all sizes and shapes lol, and completely wears her out. Do you have anything like that near you..

Re: God give me strength
Theia became a little mardy for about a week before she came into season. Does she have any swelling in that area?
You've really got me scratching my head!
Pete.

Re: God give me strength
Treats are as important as food really. Try using her kibble as training treats, and only natural, high value treats. We use a site, treats2sit4, and use only small amounts of them.

I used to use her kibble but she stopped recall (I guess it was boring) we had a trainer in when she was about 4-5 months and he said to give her hotdogs? X

Re: God give me strength
Do you give in when she wants attention? If she knows you will give in she will keep on doing it.
Maybe she prefers playing with you than toys. Iza does with me her toys aren't any good if i am not playing with them too.

Re: God give me strength
No I totally ignore her and if she barks I leave the room. I do play with her for about an hour at night we play tug fetch or hide and seek but nothing is enough. She won't stop lol x

Re: God give me strength
Could definately be getting ready for her first season which could make her hyper. I would say it could be the teenage phase but it's a bit early for that. You are doing the right thing ignoring her though.

Re: God give me strength
Also forgot to add she is being more distructive too. She is very good in terms of chewing. Only ever chewed a shoe and a door matt but past two weeks she has eaten her collar a plant pot another door matt a washing machine feed!
