Anyone use dog seat belts?
I need to start having Scooby on the back seats now rather than in the boot, but I'd like to make sure that he can't jump about and be a danger to himself as well as me or the mrs.
I've seen the dig seat belts and thought I'd ask you guys to see what you use and what works best?
Cheers

That looks good.
Is the length adjustable? And does that clip fit every car belt socket?
I thought they were all different?

Re: Anyone use dog seat belts?
The one we've got, and it doesn't show it on here, has got four different 'bits' on the end, so it will fit into any seatbelt jobby.
The length of ours is adjustable but not by a great deal... I'd say ours is roughly 40 - 50cm long at it's longest. But it needs to be short else they'd wander around the car and there wouldn't be much point in it I guess...

That sounds perfect, thanks. I'll pop into the store and see what they've got

Re: Anyone use dog seat belts?
Yes I use one for Harry and it has 4 different fittings on the end so that
it will fit any car. They only adjust a little but Harry can sit or lay down
or move across the back seat. Obviously it wouldn't be safe to have it
very long or a dog could get in the front or even worse, be thrown too far
if an accident happened.
Think I got mine from Amazon and they are only a couple of pound wherever you buy them.

We have the same and always use it! Great to plug him in in the back and crank the windows down without worrying he is going to jump out!
I think it has 3 different plug bits and again is about 50cm long.

I have an Ezydog harness that comes with a simple clip extension so you just thread the seat belt through. Its so easy to use, definitely recommended.

Re: Anyone use dog seat belts?
I have one. We started using it with Bob, who was super stressed by anything that in him mind resembled a cage (he was about 3 years in kennels), and would rip at the car if he was in the boot with a dog guard. By having him on the back seat I could teach him to lie down and relax. He remained on the back seat and never progressed to the boot. Without the seatbelt clip it would have been impossible.
We seem to get rescue dogs who aren't happy travellers, so for them the seatbelt clip is a great way of having them nearer so we can work on training, and when they're ok they can then go in the boot.

We use to have a Ancol car harness which was great but a big of a faff for short journeys. Now we have this which stays in the seatbelt on the back and clips to her normal halter.

Re: Anyone use dog seat belts?
These are really good, used one with Vin for ages until we had a different car as he now travels in boot which is big with a guard, and securedJellytot wrote:http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/dog-seat-belt

Yeh, I use that one for Nita, from pets at home. Works great now she is relegated to the back of the car.
