zirtek can i give it to my boy ?
i have just been reading futher down on this page that you can give dogs piriton for allergies. i was wondering if its possible to give my boy zirtek liquid form as thats what my daughter takes and thats what i always have in the house, i have been reading on the internet that its fine but just thought id check if anyone uses it.

It's quite possible that its fine to but I would check with your vet before giving your dog any medication, human or canine. Especially something like an anti histamine which can be sedative.

I've only ever used piriton, and then only half a tablet at a time. But that's just because I've never bought anything else!
Give your vets a ring (the veterinary nurse should be qualified to reply) and see what they recommend.
Take care with amounts because they will sedate. I gave Dempsey (31 kilos) half a tablet last night because of some insect bites where he's had his fur shaved around the back of his neck, and it knocked him out till about 8am, and even then he was very slow & unwilling to go for his walk. They are quite powerful for a dog.

thanx caryll i will phone the vet in the morning . i really want to stop his ocd of licking his feet and scratching his mouth its a shame for him it drives him potty and drives me more potty xx

TBH sounds like the same as my Skibadee, I tried lots of antihistimines and found they did little to stop the scratching but did make my dogs lazy and tired. I guess every dogs different though and its well worth trying a few different things to see what suits them.
