Would love some good thoughts for Ruby :( Update!
My poor baby girl has suddenly got sick today im staying at my mums as im helping her pack for shifting soon and after this morning Ruby vomited then diarrhea started.
she had her breakfast and went normal poos a couple times this morning, then an hour later she vomited up breakfast. She had been crying off and on then diarrhea started, we took her to mums vets just 2 mins away at 2pm... it started around 11am but we couldnt get our appointment till then, The vet couldn't feel anything stuck in her stomach but every time she felt her tummy she whined and cried, she also had a little bit of blood in her stools, Vet doesn't suspect parvo so much.... she has given her a pain relief and a medication to stop the vomiting, She hasn't ruled out that she may have intussusception or a foreign body stuck somewhere and we are to keep an eye on her tonight if she still vomits more or gets worse tonight we can rush her down to the after hours vets. She could also have had a reaction to a new chew i bought yesterday with a sore tummy so they are not sure, only a ultrasound will show anything, Intussusecption involves her intestines and im so worried at the moment shes asleep on the drugs but they will be wearing off in a few hours.

Good luck Ruby and get well soon girl. A big sloppy one from Stan too.
Funny you should mention this as Stanley was like that this morning and threw up this afternoon and looked for dark rooms to stand/lay in. He's eaten a little food and is now asleep on my bed where it's quiet and dark. She'll be alright though, they're a plucky breed when the chips are down.

Re: Would love some good thoughts for Ruby :( Update!
Thank you so much!! A bit of a update from last night, not long after i posted here the drugs wore off and she started with the crying again, the diarrhea was looking worse with more blood...We took her to the late night vets, they gave her more pain relief and did an X Ray on her and found two lots of Gas build up, one in the stomach and one in her intestines they cant see any big major blockages but they could see something white, Its not known if its food or something small there, so they gave her a little Blue pill like thing to go threw her body, she is too have another x ray later today to see if the pill stops somewhere which would show the blockage. This morning she is looking a bit better but still whimpering off and on but i cant feed her till later today. She also had an injection for the gas a bit like an anti-acid for humans.
So my poor girl has had 4 injections, poked and prodded over the last day its so horrible seeing them go threw this. She was so sore when they took her temperature and did the injections she screamed i was in tears. Will update again later, thanks again for the well wishes.

Re: Would love some good thoughts for Ruby :( Update!
Thank you again guys well another update, Ruby is MUCH much better we went back to get the second X ray yesterday But she had gotten a little better and my vet thought we should wait another couple days for a X ray as she didn't think Ruby was acting like she had an obstruction in her tummy and to her it looked like Gastritis or a real bad case of a tummy bug or she had eaten something she shouldnt, so given some antibiotics, electrolytes and more doggie food that's easy on her digestive tract. She ended up pooing the little balls (from the vet) out too which is a bonus, im so happy and this morning she is again a lot better getting her staffy mojo back lol. So after going to the 3 different vets, my mum vet, the after hours and my vet costing around 500.00? pound or roughly $800.00NZ dollars my baby is on the mend.

Cost quite a lot more because we had to go to after hours clinic at 11pm i now have looked into getting doggie insurance here in New Zealand i think it will be quite worth it especially for our babies

Pleased to read that Ruby is now feeling better, the vet bills can be a major pain on the back pocket, do you have pet insurance ? if not check the small print of your home insurance policy, you may have some cover there !!

Thanks again shes much better and doing her usual mad running around, i think the doggie electrolytes are not helping tho LOL, still on a bland diet for a few more days as she only seems to get this energy when shes had the drink. Then slowly back onto her puppy biscats.

Was weird Nathan, she pooed out at the end like a mucas with blood, thats when we took her to after hours and she was crying badly, not sure if it was because she had nothing left in her tummy, the Xray showed 2 pockets of gas, she didnt havent any fever either?? my vet the next day said it looked a lot like gastro?. Shes a lot better now still the odd slight runny poo but we are introducing back her puppy biscats now with the bland vet food.
