Some news
So Buster is doing amazing, as some of you know by the pictures, he comes back either when I call him or clap my hands although he doesn't really come back if there is people or dogs as he just wants to go and play with them, for that reason he's normally on the lead when we are in busy areas at the park, we walk through the busy area let him see other dogs and people always on the lead, he does great with all types of dogs small or bigger dogs, sometimes multiple dogs come up to him and he is fine, he just sniffs them and wags his tail, today he seen a jack russel and for the first time instead of just sniffing he put his paw on top of the jack russel, mostly because the jack russel was in the way of another dog and a ball, he didn't care much for that jack russel
He didn't use to play with any of his toys outside at first, at home he plays fetch all the time, and has learnt to come back, drop the toy and sit down but outside he just doesn't really care, lately he's been playing a little more though I throw the ball he goes after it and just looks at it, sometimes he does grab it but doesn't really bring it back yet..
He's normally very good off the lead and walks infront sniffing everything and then waits for me if he walks a little to far, which is good although if sometimes he tries to wonder off I just call him back, yesterday though he decided to start exploring more off the lead and goes in any little bush that he can fit in just to try get some sticks.
Tomorrow I have the day off, so going to try get up early and go on a bigger walk with him, going to take him to another park and there's a little river, I took him there before but it was freezing and he didn't really go in the water, hopefully it will be better weather tomorrow and I can try get him to have a little swim.
I am just wondering sometimes if I over walk him, he doesn't seem to get tired but he's only a puppy and our walks sometimes go from 1-2 hours, he's 3 months and a couple days old, what do you guys reckon? He gets home has a nap but then he's back at being hyper so I don't know if I am walking him to much or not as I heard over walking a puppy can cause some problems with their bones growing or something along them lines.

Re: Some news
I'm also going to take the camera with me tomorrow, hopefully I can try get some pictures of him with other dogs although I feel kinda awkward asking other owners if I can take pictures, seems like a weird question I'll also try get some of him swimming if he decides to go in

Re: Some news
The general rule is 5 mins walks per month of age. You would be better to give him 15 minute walks 2 or 3 times a day.

An hour is too much mate.
Lots of members go by the 4 min per month but it's down to the individual pup. You know yourself at that age a walk that can last 15 mins can be 5 or 30 mins the next time depending on his mood.

Re: Some news
Hi Buster sounds like your coming along nicely and sound like your having so much fun socialising what a good boy you are. Our pup is coming up to 6 months and he has 30 mins with some offlead 2-3 Times a day. Sound like you have an energetic boy on your hands like us so use the 5 min rules as a guide but it won't hurt to do a little extra but 1-2 hours is too much. The 15 minutes wouldn't touch Harleys energy levels so we just threw the ball lots and lots. Hope that helps. Beth

Sounds like he is coming along nicely, yes the walks should be shorter and split into 2/3 times day. As for bringing the ball back Vin has never got the hang of this its more like chase me Mum!
