hi again but sad news

hi guys i am not a new member, just a member thats forgotten my user details. I have some rather sad new in that i am going to have to end the suffering of my lovely old girl pebbles. She has lived with us nearly 4 years. And they will have been the best four years of her life.

Oh how sad >< >< , would hate to have to make that decision myself , may we ask what the problem is with her ??

she has cancer. Her heart and lungs are struggling and she is struggling to breath now. I cant prolong her suffering any longer. She wont survive an operation that is not guarante to get rid of the tumor because she has a bad heart. So i am not going to put her through any unnecessary pain that may only give her a few more weeks at he most

So sorry to read of Pebbles problems, never an easy decision to make. I'm sure you will have discussed it all through with your vet who will be a great comfort at this time to you.

Bless Pebbles - she'll be free of pain now.

I'm sure Pebbles is grateful for the four happy years she spent with you, but you've made the right decision, hard though it is.

DO come onto this forum again if you'd just like to share and hopefully alleviate your pain - we all understand what you are going through.

Its not a easy choice to make, as they say been there done that twice, and if like me you become attached its not an easy decision to make but you have to look at the life pebbles has had with you, she has had four fab years with you, and if she thinks like you she wouldnt have wanted to suffer either so YES you made the right decesion, as I said I have said made that decesion twice, it dont get any easier but i always put my self in there place and think what they are thinking and they wouldnt want to suffer. As many have said on her if you wanna talk, sound off, scream we are here xxx

Thankyou guys. The vet wasnt sure if it was the cancer that had spread or heart failure. But she was ready to go apparently she was only just holding on. The house is so quiet without her. keep thinking i can here her pitter patter across the laminate flooring, or i catch a glimpse of her out the corner of my eye. Oh well one day we will be back together again, but till then shes playing over rainbow bridge with all her animal friends

Oh Sammylou, I know how you feel and it's horrible. But as time goes on the pain WILL lessen and you will remember the good times fondly, and with a smile.

And as Caryll says, the day MAY come when you feel able to move on and receive another doggy into your family.
