Leia's Diary
This is the first time we met, 2 weeks old.
This is Leia at about 4 weeks old, regular visits where nice, she was being called by her name, by the people she lived with
First night home, we didn't think we would get Leia home until she was at least 8 weeks old, but we got a phone call asking if we had everything ready for Leia, as mum was struggling with the pups, she came to live with us on the 22nd of December, and she was 6 weeks old Christmas Eve, and met her new vet on the 23rd
Just a couple of days settling in and she already know where to pee, clever girl.
Been here a week now, settled right in. she has a thing for feet at the moment.
Destroyed her first toy, cheap tennis ball is broken in half and going bald.

Re: Leia's Diary
Hi all
Thanks for all the lovely comments about Leia, she is doing really well, and we are so pleased with her, she is almost 13 weeks old now, so she is fully vacinated and micro chipped now which means she can finaly go for walkies.
So here she is (above) I'm guessing around 8 or 9 weeks old, as she is not wearing a collar yet, just chilling with her humans.
I mentioned in another thread on here that she was a bit nippy and had a thing about shoes and feet when we first got her, but this has become a lot better, the shoes are only an issue if she is excited, and after a quick time out she stops, and will get a toy to play with, she will expect you to play as well, but you can take the toy throw it and she will bring it back and chew it at your feet, some times actually on your feet, as for nipping and biting she only does that with me and it means she wants her training time, I will spend half an hour or so in the kitchen with her throwing a toy so she can bring it back to me, I am using this time to teach her the drop it command.
This is why I have Staffies, and stand by what my Grandad used to say,"Never a bad dog born" the way these two are together is amazing, the boy is my youngest, Finley who is 10, its great when he comes walkies with us, as Leia just stays with him, we went down along the river tonight and I let him have a go with the lead.
At 11 weeks Leia started going out for walks, she was a lot more chilled out and a lot easier to cope with than the five and a half week old pup who normally would have had 5 or 6 sibblings to play with, so we started to let her explore more of the house, the first couple of times it was just too much excitement for her and we removed her back to the kitchen when she started doing things that weren't exceptable like chewing the couch or finding those cables you thought you had hidden, she soon got the idea that she had to be on her best behaviour, if she was allowed to stay, most nights now she will come in for a couple of hours and chill on the couch with us, but she seems to act up a bit after a while, but I honestly think its to let me know that nature calls, she goes out the back does her bussiness plays with her football for a couple of minutes and then lays on her pillow under the radiator in the kitchen.
12 weeks here, with Foxy, Foxy had a squeak, for about a week, but the noises Leia makes when she is entertaining herself with Foxy are so much funnier.
Aint she just gorgeous, I keep trying to get some pictures of her out for a walk, but the just end up blurred and out of focus, going to the beach at the weekend so will try to get some there.
Hope you enjoy our diary

Re: Leia's Diary
Loving this diary and the updates, the pictures make it all the better too. Sounds like you're right on it with the training and she's even letting you know when she needs to go out too which is fab.
You'll need to invest in a good camera so we can see her antics at the beech. Have to add, she's a little stunner too

Re: Leia's Diary
I cant get over how lucky we have been with her, she is pretty much toilet trained, she scratches at the back door when she needs to go out, we have been using those puppy training pads, we are using the box up then thats it not buying any more, its more often changed because of foot prints, although some times she does get caught short.

Re: Leia's Diary
Hi all
Leia is 14 weeks now and still doing really well. She has been socialising well with other dogs whilst out on walks and gets lots of attention from people we meet who just want to have a look at the cute puppy, she is a bit of a tart to be honest lay's straight on her back for a belly rub (absolutley no shame whatsoever) she is not so fearfull of other dogs and in the last couple of days has started to instigate play, its really good to see, she no longer tries to hide from the harness.
Not the greatest of shots I know, but I had to post this, the bond these two have got is something really special, my son Finley takes his dog handling very serious.
We start puppy classes at the begining of March
