fireworks - Fireworks have started Empty Fireworks have started

Firework season again - we have had the odd ones go off over Christmas and just had one today and not even 12 noon yet! Anyway I have now got some Melatonin for Densil. I had to buy them from overseas on the internet (made sure it was a reputable company) as I couldn't find a local vet who would prescribe them in UK, and had a friend in USA who was going to send some over but that would have taken time and been costly. Trying these as a last resort as all other things have failed. He has been on zylkene for over 2 weeks now and he does seem calmer when we get visitors - not so hyperactive as he usually is, but this doesn't make any difference with the fireworks, he just barks at them and wants to get out there at them. Will see how melatonin goes tonight.

Started 2 nights ago here! Ledger has gone to my parents in the country for the night but got vet friends who've said in future get diazepam doesn't stop the reaction but wipes the memory so it doesn't further reinforce the fear. Figure that maybe one for next firework season

Night from hell here. Melatonin did not work. Fireworks went on all night until gone 1.30am. We had to turn the tv up loud because we couldn't hear it over Densils barking. We went to bed at 12.30 and everytime I fell asleep another lot would go off and Densil would be up and barking. I would give Densil a tranquiliser if I knew it would be just for one night, but there is no telling when the idiots around here are going to let them off. I expect them to carry on a few more days yet.

Glad Ledger wasn't here, we went to bed about 11 as were up at 5.30 to get down to Surrey for a 10k run! Fireworks started just before 11 and went on until about 1am and sounded like they were in the park directly behind my house Sad worse tho was some banshee of a woman and a couple of kids screaming 'happy new year' constantly for about 20mins

Well I let Densil out in the garden for a wee at 4.30pm yesterday and just as he went out some idiot started letting fireworks off. He was just running round the garden in circles like a loony and I couldnt get him back in. I have no problem with organised events but this is just ridiculous, letting them off for no reason at all.
