Behaving around the Ladies
Bane has mainly male doggy friends that he plays with, but lately have met with a few people with young bitches. He will play for a while and then he just gets a bit carried away and only wants to hump them.
I guess this is understandable at his age, not having been done yet and I'm sure the females smell lovely.
I was just wondering if it is possible to teach him how to behave around younger female dogs so that he doesn't just try to hump all of the time? Or if it's asking too much of him?
We do stop him as soon as he tries it on and have tried getting him to sit and calm down before letting him go back and play but he just gets so worked up sometimes.

Are you keeping him 'intact' for a reason, Emma? Neutering might be the answer.

Might be too much to ask to be honest. Although I've only ever had girls

Oh Bane sometimes Emma it isnt done in a sexual nature, but purely a dominance way. Its best to stop it and distract him with something else. Neutering doesnt always solve the problems but may help. Have no probs with Vin now usually the bitch tells him what for and thats that! He hasnt been neutered but thats my personal choice, and I am very aware and careful when bitches are around.

Re: Behaving around the Ladies
Sorry for the late reply!
Liz we were just waiting until he had the chance to grow up and mature before we got him done. We are planning to make that trip to the vets in a few months time.
Maybe as Vin is oder it is something they grow out of or just learn to control themselves! Vin's such a good boy think Bane needs some lessons Thanks for the replies guys!
