is this a problem? Empty is this a problem?

Post by undautri Wed Nov 12 2014, 20:49

just wondered how long George is going to continue to stoop to wee ...hes a year old next month and shows no sign of cocking his leg up !
i dont suppose its a problem - im just curious , comparing him to my previous dogs..... hes showing no interest at all of marking his territory
is he just a late developer or is it a staffy thing?
thanks

I think they all click at different ages. Whatever works is fine I guess.

Now you mention it our male staffy was probably over one before he cocked his leg. I never thought anything of it at the time - thought it was just him. So maybe it is a staffy thing? The only other male dog I have had was an EBT and am sure he started at a few months old...

OMG they are the spitting image of each other Surprised George is a very handsome boy Big Grin That would explain the cocking the leg thing if he's related to Axl Laughing Laughing

Bo was about 5 months when he started cocking his leg. The second time he took ages to position himself just right next to a tree but when he lifted his leg he lost his footing and fell into the ditch. He didn't try again for another fortnight.

marley did his first cocked leg at 5 months but now seems to alternate. if there is nothing to wee up he squats and if there is something he generally misses...terrible aim lol

Peppa usually squats but I've seen her cocking her leg few times for better aim when she wants to wee on something .

Haha they are so funny.

I heard that is was something to do with the amount of male/female siblings they have. If there are more girls the boys see them squatting and copy. If there are more boys the girls see them cocking their legs and the same thing happens? Not sure if thats true!
