Hyperactive with other dogs!
hi all!
This is my 1st post, when we 1st brought missey home I was sure id be on here Q'ing you guys every night! To the contrary she's been nearly too good to be true, so easily house trained, no problems sleeping at night and she loves everybody straight off and visa versa. All is good apart from a couple of small things.
1. She gets over confident and super hyper around other dogs very easily, most dogs just play along at 1st but missey just will not let up! Long after other dogs have tired of play she just keeps going....lots of mouthing, jumping up and wrestling.
2.She acts similarly when she meets new people. She just gets so excited!.
Any advice is welcome!

Re: Hyperactive with other dogs!
Walk her alot let her release all her energy, also have you looked at the food your feeding her? dog foods with high protein in a dog that isnt a gun dog or working dog can make a dog over active and eventually fat haha
also if you know any other puppies maybe let her play with them
hope ive helped :-)

Redirect/interrupt the behaviour. When she is getting too much, call her over and keep her next to you to cool down - work on obedience exercises if she's trying to get back to the other dog. Once calm, allow her to play again - if she continues with the bad manners, leave the situation.

Re: Hyperactive with other dogs!
They have a tendency to not know when to stop, especially as puppies. When she starts to get annoying, stop her play and try to calm her down so she learns when enough is enough.
Bane loves playing with my parents Staff and they will go for hours but Bane never gives up. It gets to the point where we have to separate them because Bane just turns into a pest.
