We put Brutus in day care a cuople of times a week to keep him socialised and not have to worry about him being home alone. Anyhow, we have noticed more and more that he is very hyperactive with the other dogs, to the point of him burning himself out. The other dogs he plays with are huskies, GS, beagles as well as some of the smaller breeds so you would think he would be the one that tires out faster. But the girl who looks after him tells me that he tires all of them out then huffs and puffs as he has no one to play with. His playing does get a little too much from time to time so he gets a 5 minute time out which has helped a little.

Is anyone elses dog like this?

when I picked him up today, with the exception of the young husky, all of the other dogs were completely wiped. Brutus came flying to the door like he had just woken up from 24 hours sleep and had all this energy to burn off. She told me he hadn't stopped. The dog sitter loves him to bits and her partner used to own a couple of Staffs in the UK so they know the breed. but even they are amazed at his energy. When he is with us though, he tends to sleep all day.

Brutus does seem to have endless stamina, bet all the other owners love him being there as they get a quiet tired out dog back later in the day.

Loki's like this. He has endless energy...but if he has nothing to do, he will eventually calm down and sleep, and the sleep will be a deep one because of all the events of the day. Probably he keeps on going because he doesn't get a chance to relax, it's like "Yay, dogs to play with! Yay, family's back!" and etc.

Funny you should say that Kathy. One of the dogs owners asked how much exercise they were getting when at day care as her dog just sleeps when they take her home. The girl said none, they play with Brutus all day, he never stops. Ha ha.
