Ralph's op tomorrow. A LITTLE UPDATE
So Ralph is going in for his surgery in the morning to fix his cruciate ligament.
I can't bring myself to leave him there, so the OH is going to take him before work. No food for him after 8pm tonight, and the poor little thing has no idea what's about to happen!
Not looking forward to the recovery - but happy that I'll have my little boy back once his leg is as good as new.

Ahhh Jo, I'm sure Ralph will be as right as rain once it's done. I guess it's just the waiting that's the hard part.

It's the worst feeling isn't it Jo. Just keep yourself busy until it's time to collect Ralph and then you'll have the fun task of trying to keep him calm

Cheers guys. The hardest part was not giving him his breakfast this morning! He was sat by his bowl looking at us saying 'I'm hungry!'.

Re: Ralph's op tomorrow. A LITTLE UPDATE
Hello all, a little update.
He was very groggy after his op and pretty much slept for 36 hours! Which was just as well.
He's obviously feeling better in himself - he's whining to go upstairs (not allowed!) and whining to get up on the sofa (also banned!). He can't understand why we put him on a lead to go into the back garden and is whining to get out of the back gate!
This morning we went outside the house, we have a small green out the front, and we just literally went round that for wee wee's!! The vet said no more than 5 minutes for toileting. Ralph was sulking when I said that's it and dragged him back in the house!!
Tonight we go back to the vet for a quick check up. But so far all is looking ok. He limps occasionally but seems to be putting weight on it a bit more each time which the vet said he would do over the next few days.
Only 6 more weeks of this to go!!!!
Thank you all so much for your kind comments. It's been hard. Nice to know I can have a vent to you guys as you understand!

Re: Ralph's op tomorrow. A LITTLE UPDATE
The recovery time is soooo frustrating for you and Ralph. It is so worth while taking the vets advice though. It'll pass before you know it Jo and at least it isn't summer.

Aww poor Ralph, glad to hear he's over the op and getting back to normal; this is going to be a very frustrating time for you both, but be firm about the vet's advice and it will soon be over.
