Hi I need some advice, when we humans are eating our dinner Cassie keeps jumping up to try join us. Any ideas on how I can stop her, as feeding her at the same time only gives us 3 minutes peace tops !

I would just tell her no and then ignore her, she'll get the message eventually Smile

Sit leave and wait, basic training - you can try time out on beds or a mat where she has to stay - its basically repetitive training and you'll get bored of your own voice but as long as everyone does the same thing it will pay off Xx

Try with a sit and stay, she may get bored and just go off to do her own thing. Or get into the habit of maybe sending her to her bed and getting her to stay there while you eat.
If she is struggling to stay away, maybe you could try giving her a Kong to chew on while you eat?

It is best to get her out of the habit now unless you want her doing it all the time. My parents dog will sit drooling in your lap at dinner time and if you look at him he whines until he gets a plate to clean! The most annoying thing ever!

Hi thank you all, I think we will try putting her in her bed as she tried to launch herself at the table from the back of the sofa, luckily my eldest son saw what she was going to do and stopped her !!!!

I make sure we never ever give him any food from the table so he has no interest in being there, when we eat he sits under the table chewing his stag bar mostly. Even if he is getting leftovers from our plates or the table I make sure I take them into the kitchen and give them to him there.
