Re: Pedigree from France
Hi, I live in france and have imported dogs into france but not out of france so i will tell you what i know but not having exported a dog from france i might be wrong.
Normally you must wait until the puppy is 3 months old and has had it rabies jab before it can travel under french law.
When you buy a puppy in france the seller must give you a contract signed by both parties this is the document you get when you first buy your puppy.
The birth certificate is the offical SCC document you get sent to you by the breeder 1/2 months after collecting your puppy.
When the dog reaches 12 months you get the dog/bitch confirmed
by a french judge and send off for the pedigree paperwork. This is not obligitory but necessary if you want to breed, the birth certificate is proof of pedigree if you do not want to breed the dog/bitch.
I expect it would be different if you export the puppy but to do this officailly the pup must be more than 3 months old and have it rabies jab before it travels.
Check out the SCC website they should be able to give you all the info about export pedigree and paperwork.
If you have any question let me know and i will try and help.
