New here, advice needed please!
Hello,
We have a lovely Staffy (x English BT?) called Indie, she's just over 8 months old now and for the most part things have been going really well. We got her at 8 weeks, she soon learned to use the puppy pads then once she had her vaccs and started going outside ditched the pads easily and has toileted pretty well outside since, the odd accident indoors but nothing much over the last few months...until recently! The last month she has occasionally been wetting her crate at night nothing consistent, some weeks not at all others twice in a week. We spoke to our trainer who we haven't seen in a while as she's a pretty good pup now as long as we stay on top of her (especially as she seems to be hitting the cheeky hormonal streak we were warned about now haha) and she said it would be unlikely to be behavioural as she's been in her crate since we got her and even as a tiny pup NEVER wet her bed! She did have a pad there for a couple of weeks but once night wees stopped we got rid and filled the crate with a memory foam mattress.
So anyway she's been to see the vet as we wondered if it could be a UTI; she had no other signs so I decided to go with a urine test rather than trying antibiotics in case they did help. They said they'd call if anything showed up and not heard back, going to chase them today to double check though as she didn't wet for over a week after seeing the vet but just got up to her soaked in wee-she hasn't even moved to the other end to go it's like she done it in her sleep poor pup, worrying me as much as annoying me that everything smells now lol
Could it be due to her hormones/first season starting? We are hoping to let her have one season then spay but maybe she does need to be done now like the vet said?!
Thanks in advance for the help

Re: New here, advice needed please!
Quick update I spoke to the vet and annoyingly they just hadn't called me to let me know her urine sample came back very dilute and with some white blood cells indicating either a mild UTI / kidney function problem. Starting her on antibiotics for a week and if no change on her urine sample after that they'll have to do bloods to check her kidneys poor puppy-not that she seems unhappy in any way!

Hi and welcome to the Forum from Flo and me
I moved your post here as you gave such a great introduction and you'll get more views.
Shame the Vet didn't let you know sooner but at least you have a treatment plan now. Hope it all clears up in a few days for Indie.

Thank you everyone, and for moving this to a better area! Fingers crossed she's on the mend and nothing more serious than a UTI. Will check out the links above
