Yeah they are dog classes Bronze is sit, stay, come, down commands they have to hold the command for 3mins then silver and gold get harder with longer time for commands well worth doing if there's someone doing them near you

Putting Chloe into them after she has been spayed, she is dog aggressive with about 10% of dogs and can't be trusted off lead... apparently these learn her all these things..

yeah it will i'm sure for gold its all done off lead, the thing with training classes is have the best treats liver cooked in garlic salt and cooked so its hard Chloe won't look at another dog, but if you go with just a normal treat or some cheese she'll want to play with every dog and ignore you
hot dogs are good treats as well

This is what each one involves............

Unfortunately there's nobody near me who teaches it, so I couldn't put Dempsey through it as a pup, but I know loads of people who've done the bronze & some who have done silver and gold as well.
If you get a good trainer & a decent lot training with you they can be a lot of fun.

I did the basic, bronze and silver classes with skibadee. They are really good fun and do have an element of socialisation too which is good for D/A dogs. You do a certain amount of training sessions (think its 6 weeks) then there is a test and a graduation where you get a little certificate. I think Chloe will enjoy it, Skibadee certainly benefitted from it.

Re: kennel club good citizen awards
I have Ledger booked in starting in two weeks as the centre near me to join for agility you have to have the bronze award
I feel more in control when Ledger is walked on his harness which they have said is fine for classes but that depending on the examiner he may have to do the test on the collar, has anyone had any experience on this? At the mo he has a comfy 3 peaks collar which I have been taking him on short walks and his dogs trust harness that came with him I'm now debating whether to pimp him up in some nice coordinated leather numbers or is nylon the way to go?
