The woman that owns my house has been coming around when I'm not home!!! I feel completely and utterly....well I dunno how, I'm so angry and upset Sad

I can't believe it. I don't know what to do.

it's illegal for her to do this. did you not have problems with her changing her mind about letting you have a dog in the property a couple of months ago?

Is what she doing legal even though she owns the house? Definitely an invasion on privacy if she's been going inside.

No it's illegal, thing is out credit isn't brilliant, and I just am just so worried, the thing is I got a complaint saying the grass hadnt been mown, so I went around tonight and apologised to the neighbours, they didn't know anything about it....so that means my letting agent knows she's been coming over, and lied to me about it.

i own 12 rental properties and each contract is individually tailored to the tennant but the one constant is my legal obligation to give a minimum 24hrs notice of entry but then it's only if the tennant agrees and only whilst they are present. she should know this so my guess is she wants you out. how did the dog situation pan out?

The thing is we've not done anything, the reason the grass hasnt been mown is because she's not given us the power cable for it......nothing more was said about the dog situation and loki is all settled at night now and he never barks and has done absolutely no damage to the property!!!

go and get legal advice but i have to warn you that your best option is to look for a new place as unless you can afford a civil case then the courts rarely come down on the side of the tennant as it is so easy for a landlord to manipulate a reason for the intrusion.
it's wrong and should be stopped don't put up with it because who knows what the next thing will be?

I am looking for another place, as soon as I've saved up the money and we find out that allows loki. That's it I'm moving, it's a shame I love this place, but I am now constantly worried she's gonna be coming over.

hey did you need to see me? the neighbour said you were at the house......blah blah did you manage to drop that cable round for the lawn mower just I've not found it.....

In the mean time source some free legal advice or nip to the citizens advice bureau sounds like she will be fun when you try to get your deposit back etc

that's a good idea actually. I'm gonna wait a few days I'm so upset I dont want to get annoyed and I'd rather be rational about it, I'm a good tenant and I always pay my rent on time, we wanna live in exeter for a long time, I'd of lived here for years.

Change the locks, you have a right to live undisturbed.

A tenant has the right to live in your accommodation without being disturbed. They have the right to have control over their home so that their landlord and other people cannot freely enter whenever they want to.

A landlord cannot limit or otherwise interfere with a tenants right to live in their accommodation or they could be found guilty of harassment

Cnt u go to ur local council and tell them ur landlords being a nightmare and get put on a council/housing association waiting list . I would seek advice as above. Whether she owns the property or not shes breaking the law .
